Do you think you can save money by using high-temperature water? After all, then the heater will not work, this will reduce electricity bills. Why do manufacturers recommend using cold water supply?

  1. The permissible water temperature for a dishwasher is 60 degrees. Using a source with elevated temperatures will damage the filtration systems.
  2. Hot water carries more debris than cold water. You will need to install an additional cleaning filter.
  3. Hoses quickly deteriorate and gaskets wear out. When exposed to high temperatures, hoses and pipes may bend and connections may weaken.
  4. The quality of dishwashing decreases. Pre-rinse to remove food residues always with cold water. Otherwise, pieces and particles of food will stick to the plates.

Remember! The dishwasher can heat the water, but not cool it.

Keep in mind that hot water has higher pressure than cold water. With a conventional mixer, the high-pressure flow will flow through the low-pressure flow pipe. Therefore, you will have to install a special mixer that will block one channel.

Connection steps

Collect everything necessary tools and details for convenient operation:

  • an intake hose that can withstand high temperatures (if your model is designed for such a connection, the hose is included);
  • brass tee with shut-off valve;

  • special mixer;
  • cleaning filter;
  • wrench;
  • fum tape for sealing.

Doing the work yourself:

  1. Turn off the water supply.
  2. Prepare the water pipe outlet.
  3. Install a brass tee to the pipe outlet.
  4. Connect the intake hose to the tee.
  5. Attach a filter to the free end of the hose.
  6. Connect the structure to the dishwasher.

Carefully seal all connections with fum tape, wind it against the thread at least 10-15 times. Now open the water supply and check that the connections are correct. Is nothing leaking? Feel free to test run the PMM.

Other connection options

In more expensive dishwasher models, it is possible to connect to water in three ways:

  • to cold;
  • to hot;
  • to both sources at once.

The latter option is a success. The equipment independently mixes the streams, bringing the water to the desired temperature. You really save on electricity; you can choose the dishwashing mode yourself.

The hybrid connection requires a large number of hoses, which is not always convenient or aesthetically pleasing. But if you find a way to connect everything neatly, then you can use the machine to your satisfaction.

Think twice before connecting the dishwasher according to the instructions. This can damage not only the dishes, but also equipment in general.
