Electric water heater Termex: user manual

Operation manual, instructions for electric water heaters Termeks series RZL, RZB, RSD

In water heaters Termex modern technologies and materials of the highest quality are applied. Electric water heaters of the Termex brand are equipped with a residual current device (RCD), which ensures complete electrical safety during operation.
Termex electric water heaters are designed and manufactured in strict accordance with international standards, which guarantee reliability and safety of operation. All models have passed the mandatory certification of the State Standard of Russia and fully comply with the requirements of GOST R 51318.14.1 -99 GOST R IEC 60335-2-21-99.

This manual applies to Thermex models ( series RZL, RZB, RSD ), which optionally have a silver anode (Silver models). The name of the model of the purchased water heater is indicated on the identification plate on the device body.

Purpose of the Termex water heater

An electric water heater (hereinafter referred to as EWH) is designed to provide hot water to household and industrial facilities that have a cold water pipeline with a pressure of at least 0.05 MPa and not more than 0.6 MPa.
EWH should be operated in closed heated rooms. The instrument is not designed to operate in continuous flow mode.

The main technical characteristics of the Termex water heater

The supply voltage of all types and models of EWH should be within 220V ± 10%. Power supply frequency 50Hz ± 1%. The volume of the internal tank and the power of the heating element are indicated on the identification plate on the device.
The thread diameter of the water inlet and outlet pipes is 1/2".

Description and principle of operation of EWH

The outer case of the EWH, depending on the model, is made of various high-quality materials - shock-resistant plastic, low-carbon or special polished stainless steel. The inner tank is made of high-quality stainless steel containing titanium, which ensures high corrosion resistance and, as a result, a long service life.
The space between the outer casing and the inner tank is filled with polyurethane foam - a modern, environmentally friendly thermal insulation with the best heat saving characteristics. Models RZL-VP, RZL-VS, RSD have two threaded pipes: for cold water inlet (with blue ring) and hot water outlet (with red ring), and models RZL-HP, RZL-HS, RZB, RZB-D, RZB-F, RZB-L equipped with an additional drain pipe (with a red ring, closed with a metal plug) for draining water and flushing the inner tank.

On the front side of the EWH there is a thermometer (model RZL-HS, RZL-VS, 30 l -150 l). The location of the control panel depends on the model and type of EWH: RZL-VS, RSD - from below, RZL-HS - on the right, RZB, RZB-D, RZB-F, RZB-L, RZL-HP, RZL-VP and models of the ROUND PLUS series - on the front side.

A tubular electric heater (TEH) and thermostat and thermal switch sensors are mounted on a removable flange. The heater is used to heat water and is controlled by a thermostat, which has a smooth temperature control up to + 75 ° C. The thermostat automatically maintains the water temperature at the level set by the user. The temperature control knob is located on the mechanical panel
management. Electronic models have a touch control ().
The thermal switch serves to protect the EWH from overheating and disconnects the heating element from the network when the water temperature exceeds + 95 ° С ().

Model RZB10 equipped with an autonomous unregulated thermostat located under the top cover of the device. For RZB10 and RSD models a pilot lamp is installed that induces the heating mode of the heater. The thermal switch in the RZB10 and RSD models is located under the top cover.
The EWH operating mode indicator for models 30l - 150l is the illumination lamps for the power selection keys: they light up when the water is heated and go out when the water heating temperature set on the thermostat is reached. In models with electronic control, the indication is carried out by the control lamp L1 () - it lights up when the set temperature is reached.

An RCD is mounted on the electric cord of the device, which ensures disconnection of the EWH from the power supply network in case of leakage or breakdown of the supply voltage to the grounded elements of the device.
Silver models in their design contain an electronic device with a silver anode that provides disinfection of heated water. This series of water heaters is a "new generation" product that cares about your health.
The safety valve performs the functions of a non-return valve, preventing water from the water heater from entering the water supply network in cases of a drop in the latter pressure and in cases of an increase in pressure in the tank with strong water heating, as well as the function of a protective valve, relieving excess pressure in the tank with strong water heating. During the operation of the water heater, water may leak from the discharge pipe of the safety valve to relieve excessive pressure, which occurs for the safety of the water heater. This exhaust pipe must remain open to the atmosphere and be installed permanently down and in a non-freezing environment.

It is necessary to ensure the drainage of water from the outlet pipe of the safety valve to the sewerage system, providing for the appropriate drainage during the installation of the EWH.

It is necessary to drain a small amount of water regularly (at least once a month) through the outlet pipe of the safety valve into the sewer to remove lime deposits and to check the function of the valve. To open the valve, it is equipped with a handle. It is necessary to ensure that during the operation of the water heater this handle is in the position that closes the drain of water from the tank.

Safety instructions for working with the Termex water heater

The electrical safety of the EWH is guaranteed only if there is an effective grounding, made in accordance with the current rules for the installation of electrical installations.
Plumbing connections and valves must comply with the parameters of the water supply network and have the necessary quality certificates.

During installation and operation of EWH it is not allowed:

  • connect the power supply if the EWH is not filled with water;
  • remove the protective cover when the power is on;
  • use EWH without grounding;
  • include EWH in the water supply network with a pressure of more than 0.6 MPa;
  • connect the EWH to the water supply without a safety valve;
  • drain water from the EWH when the power supply is switched on;
  • use spare parts not recommended by the Manufacturer;
  • use water from EWH for cooking;
  • use water containing mechanical impurities (sand, small stones), which can lead to malfunction of EWH and safety valve;
  • change the design and mounting dimensions of the EWH brackets.

Installation and connection

ATTENTION! All plumbing and electrical installation work must be carried out by qualified personnel with a mandatory entry in the “Connection Mark” section (see the “ ” section).

Placement and installation of the instrument

EWH is installed in accordance with the marking indicated on the body and the following table:

It is recommended to install EWH as close as possible to the place where hot water is used in order to reduce heat losses in pipes.
The EWH is suspended by the housing brackets on anchor hooks fixed in the wall. Installation of hooks in the wall must exclude spontaneous movement of EWH brackets along them.

To maintain EWH, the distance from the protective cover to the nearest surface in the direction of the removable flange axis must be at least:
30 centimeters - for models 5-80 liters;
50 centimeters - for models of 100-150 liters.

ATTENTION! In order to avoid damage to the property of the consumer and (or) third parties in case of malfunctions of the hot water supply system, it is necessary to install the EWH in rooms with waterproofing of the floors and drainage to the sewer, and in no case place objects exposed to water under the EWH. When placing the EWH in unprotected premises, it is necessary to install a protective tray under the EWH with drainage into the sewer.
If the EWH is placed in places that are difficult to access for technical and warranty service (mezzanines, niches, interceiling spaces, etc.), the EWH is dismantled and installed by the consumer independently or at his expense.
Note: the protective tray is not included in the package of EWH.

Connection to the water supply of the Termex electric water heater

Install a safety valve at the cold water inlet, marked with a blue ring, twisting 3.5 - 4 turns, ensuring the tightness of the connection with any waterproofing material (linen, FUM tape, etc.).
It is forbidden to operate the EWH without a safety valve or to use valves from other manufacturers.

Rice. 1. Scheme of connecting EWH to the water supply

During operation of the EWH, you can observe the appearance of drops from the drainage beak of the safety valve (release of excessive pressure when water is heated). It is recommended to attach a rubber or silicone tube of the appropriate diameter to the drainage beak to remove moisture.
Connection to the water supply system is made in accordance with Fig. 1 only with the help of copper, metal-plastic or plastic pipes, as well as a special flexible plumbing supply. It is recommended to supply water to the EWH through a mud filter installed on the cold water line (not included in the delivery set).
After connecting, open the cold water supply valve to the EWH and the hot water tap on the mixer to ensure the outflow of air from the water heater. When the EWH is finally filled, cold water will flow from the mixer tap in a continuous stream.

When EWH is connected in places not provided with water supply, it is allowed to supply water to EWH from an auxiliary tank located at a height of at least 5 meters from the EWH top point, or using a pumping station.

Note: to facilitate maintenance of the EWH during operation, it is recommended to install a drain valve in accordance with fig. 1 (for models not equipped with a drain pipe (not included)).
If the pressure in the water supply system exceeds 0.6 MPa, then it is necessary to install a reducer (not included in the delivery set) at the inlet before the EWH to reduce the water pressure to normal.

Connecting the appliance to the mains

ATTENTION! Before switching on the power supply, make sure that the EWH is filled with water.

The EWH is equipped with a standard power cord with a plug and an RCD. The outlet must have a ground terminal and be located in a place protected from moisture.
The socket and the electrical wiring connected to it must be designed for a rated power of at least 2000W.
Insert the plug into the socket and press the button located on the RCD.

Operation and maintenance of the Termex water heater

Models with mechanical control on the EWH control panel have buttons (I and II) for power selection with built-in indicator lamps. Button I on corresponds to 1.3 kW, both buttons on correspond to 2 kW. You can choose one or another heating power, based on your needs in the amount of hot water or depending on the season.

In models equipped with an electronic control panel with a digital display, the water heater is turned on / off by the left button on the control panel " ON/OFF» (Fig. 4), while the display shows the set heating temperature. After 2.5 seconds, the display shows the current water temperature in the EWH. The choice of heating power is carried out by the middle button "Power selector" on the control panel. The 2 kW mode is accompanied by the indication of a control lamp L2, A 1.3 kW- indication of a control lamp L3 ().

During EWH operation, the consumer can regulate the heating temperature:

  • for models with mechanical control using the regulator located on the control panel. When the regulator is turned counterclockwise to the stop, the EWH is disconnected from the mains, when turned clockwise, the temperature gradually increases up to +75 ° C. In the RZB10 model, the possibility of manual temperature control is not provided;
  • electronically controlled models are equipped with a display. The control is carried out using three touch keys, the modes are controlled by the information on the display and the indication of three control lamps. To select the heating temperature, press the right button “Temp. Selector » () on the control panel. The resolution of the temperature change is 5°C. When the EWH is first turned on (or after a power outage), the temperature is set to 75°C by default.

If during the operation of the EWH the RCD tripped, to return it to the working state, it is necessary to press the button on the RCD. If at the same time the RCD trips again, it is necessary to call a service specialist to eliminate the reasons why it trips.
If you do not use the EWH in winter and there is a possibility of freezing of water lines and the water heater itself, it is recommended to turn off the power and drain the water from the EWH in order to avoid damage to the internal tank.

Maintenance (TO) Termex

During maintenance, the presence of scale on the heating element is checked. At the same time, the sediment that may form in the lower part of the EWH is removed. If scale has formed on the heating element, then it can be removed using special cleaning agents, or mechanically. It is recommended that one year after connecting the EWH, the first maintenance should be carried out by employees of a specialized organization and, based on the intensity of scale and sediment formation, determine the timing of subsequent maintenance. This action will maximize the life of the EWH. In Silver models, it is necessary to replace the silver anode once a year by a specialized organization.

Attention: Scale buildup on the heating element can damage it.
Note: Damage to the heating element due to the formation of scale is not covered by the warranty. Regular maintenance is not included in the warranty obligations of the manufacturer and seller.

To carry out maintenance, you must do the following:

  1. turn off the EWH power supply;
  2. allow hot water to cool or use it through a mixer;
  3. shut off the supply of cold water to EWH;
  4. unscrew the safety valve or open the drain valve;
  5. put a rubber hose on the cold water supply pipe or on the drain valve, directing its other end into the sewer;
  6. open the hot water tap on the mixer and drain the water from the EWH through the hose into the sewer;
  7. remove the protective cover, disconnect the wires, unscrew and remove the support flange from the housing;
  8. if necessary, clean the heating element from scale and remove sediment from the tank;
  9. assemble, fill the EWH with water and turn on the power.

In models with a drain pipe, it is enough to shut off the cold water supply to the EWH, unscrew the plug on the drain pipe and open the hot water tap. After the water has drained, you can open the cold water supply to the EWH for some time for additional washing of the tank.
When EWH maintenance is carried out by a specialized organization, a corresponding note must be made in the service ticket.
If the rules for installation, operation, maintenance of the EWH are observed and the quality of the water used complies with the current standards, the manufacturer sets the service life of the EWH at 7 years.

After purchasing a boiler, you need to think about how to connect the Termex water heater with your own hands.

The quality and duration of the work depends on how correct its installation will be.

Specialized stores offer a wide selection of units that heat water.

The combination of high quality and affordable cost includes water heaters of the Thermex brand.

They are available in storage and flow type.

Accumulative units have a reliable design, they can be installed by a person who does not have experience in such a matter.

Such a water heater can be installed anywhere in the house, apartment, cottage. Through it, you can simultaneously supply heated water to the kitchen faucet, bathroom, and shower.

In the event of any malfunction, the safety valve built into the system will operate.

Termex flow heaters are assembled from quality parts, so the service life is long and the quality of their work is high.

On them, as well as on storage units, there is a safety valve. With its help, the device is protected in case of damage.

Before giving preference to any type of boiler, it is worth analyzing the capacity of the tank, the conditions in which the equipment will be operated, and the appearance.

To connect the water heater, you can use the services of specialized companies.

Installation will not take much time, but will cost a lot of money. The cost usually depends on the type of water heater.

It should be noted that only the main installation activities are included in the installation cost. All additional procedures will have to be paid additionally.

There is another option - installing a boiler with your own hands. For the installation to be successful, you must have experience in working with plumbing.

Following the sequence of work, the water heater will be installed correctly.

However, you can get the following benefits:

  • money will be saved;
  • you can acquire new knowledge, skills that will help solve problems in the event of a water heater breakdown;
  • in the event of a breakdown of the unit, it will not be necessary to call the master to dismantle the water heater.

To install the boiler with your own hands, you need to have the necessary tools and additional elements. You will need a tape measure to measure the distance between the holes.

The tank is installed on anchor bolts, which require holes in the wall. To make them, you need a puncher with a drill of the desired diameter.

In addition, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, wire cutters will be needed.

You need to purchase stopcocks in advance, and to them the corresponding number of tees.

Do not forget the flexible connecting hoses and the required number of meters of plastic pipe if you need to change the plumbing in the house.

For a new wiring device, it is worth purchasing a three-wire wire, the length of which must be no less than the distance between the boiler and the shield. In addition, you need an outlet and a machine on the shield.

Carrying out preparatory work

Installing a water heater requires determining where it will hang or stand. For rooms with a small area, you can install a small boiler that will hold 50-80 liters of water.

Such tanks are most often hung on the wall. You can choose a water heater with any diameter, design.

If you need to install a container of more than 220 liters, then you cannot hang it on the wall. For such a tank, you need to find a place on the floor.

When fixing the water tank to the wall, it is worth choosing a load-bearing wall for this so that it can withstand the weight of the unit.

To fix the tank, you need to have anchor bolts available. In some models, they come with a tank, sometimes you need to purchase mounts separately.

For water heaters that are placed vertically and have a volume of 30-100 liters, you will need 2 anchor bolts.

If you need to install a horizontal unit, the volume of which is 50-100 liters, then you need to have 4 fastening elements.

The place where the boiler will be located must meet the requirements:

  • Access to the water heater must be provided during the entire period of its operation;
  • Installing the tank on the wall provides the ability to withstand a load equal to twice the weight of the water heater;
  • It is worth checking the wiring, it must withstand the operation of the water heater. If the wiring is old, then it will need to be replaced;
  • It is necessary to check the condition of the pipes in the room; conclusions must be created for connecting the water heater.

Water heater installation

Termex instantaneous water heaters, due to their size, can be installed above the sink, which will significantly save space in the room. Water is heated in a metal flask.

Due to the use of powerful heaters, it is worth making a separate machine for the flow boiler.

Thus, the general wiring in the house, apartment will always be serviceable and not depend on the inclusion of the unit.

The water heater installation scheme can be temporary or stationary. In the first case, the cold water pipeline is connected to a tee, after which it is combined with a water heater.

The stationary installation scheme involves the creation of a parallel water intake and liquid supply system.

Tees must be cut separately for cold and hot water. Shut-off valves are installed behind the tees.

The inlet pipe of the flow boiler must be connected to a water pipe with cold water.

The outlet pipe is connected to a tap through which already heated water is supplied.

The tightness of the system is checked without fail during a temporary, stationary connection.

To do this, you need to simultaneously turn on the hot water tap in the shower, in the bathroom, in the kitchen. If there are no leaks, then you can turn on the electricity.

Termex storage water heaters do not impose such requirements on wiring as flowing water heaters.

Installation and connection requires the use of a scheme in which water can be supplied simultaneously to a faucet and shower.

Installing this type of boiler with your own hands is simple if you have the necessary tools. Marking is applied to the wall where the water heater will be located.

Mounting elements are installed at the marked places.

After attaching the tank to the wall, you will need to connect the water, install a safety valve.

When connecting the water supply, make sure that the valve is closed. After the installation of the entire system, the operation of the Termex water heater is checked.

When checking, all connections of the pipeline parts must be tight, and heated water must flow from the tap.

To see clearly what is the scheme for installing a Termex water heater with your own hands, you can watch the video in our article.

How to connect the water heater to the water supply system

In order for the connection of the flow-through, storage tank to be correct, a certain sequence must be followed.

Most often, each kit has a diagram that describes the installation of the boiler.

Information for each model:

  • the number of holes to be made in the wall;
  • types and number of fasteners;
  • detailed description of pipe connection;
  • what units, equipment will be useful for the tank to be installed correctly.

To connect the Termex boiler with your own hands, you need to perform the following sequence of actions.

It is worth inspecting the water pipes. If they are worn out, it is recommended to replace them with new ones.

It is allowed to install pipes from any material: metal-plastic, plastic, steel, copper.

Be sure to install a safety valve on the boiler. Its role is to protect equipment from excessive pressure.

Installation must be carried out on the branch pipe where cold water is supplied. Fum-tape, sealant must ensure tightness.

Ball valves are installed on the pipes that are connected to the water heater. Thanks to them, you can regulate the flow of water into the tank.

At the outlet, water will be supplied at a constant pressure. This device is important when a boiler is installed in multi-storey buildings, where the pressure in the plumbing system jumps.

After the installation of the water supply is completed, you need to open the tap to supply water to the tank. After it is filled, well-heated water should come out of the tap.

At this stage, the tightness of all connections is checked.

How to connect the water heater to electricity?

The Termex water heater is a device with increased power.

Before connecting, it is very important to check the wiring in the entire apartment and evaluate its capabilities: the size of the wire section, what it is made of, the maximum load on the wire.

If the wiring is weak, but the wire is in good condition, then it is not necessary to change it completely throughout the apartment or house.

In this case, you can lay an additional cable from the water heater to the shield.

So the Termex water heater will work without breakdowns and failures.

Termex water heaters are ordinary models, ordinary household appliances. Self-installation of a Termex water heater is an example of an ordinary operation. We list the key points.

The main points when installing Termex water heaters

Consider how an independent installation of a Termex water heater is carried out. Let's pay attention to the moments mentioned in passing. By the way, do not forget - the plumbing is completely dressed for at least three and a half turns. Otherwise, cut the thread. Self-installation of the Termex water heater is carried out according to the standard scheme. We emphasize only the hushed places.

It is impossible to operate the Termex water heater without a magnesium anode. In heating technology, a magnesium anode protects aluminum and steel against galvanic corrosion in circuits with copper elements. This is written in SNiPs. It is forbidden to operate iron and aluminum structures downstream of copper structures.

The same applies to water heaters. Often heating elements use copper. Copper conducts heat well, the efficiency of the device increases. There are steel heating elements. This is due to electrochemical corrosion: the difference in electrical potential between the steel tank and the heating element is zero. Therefore, destruction is blocked. We want to note that the process of electrochemical corrosion is not associated with 220 V from the outlet. Metals in nature have a natural potential. Copper is on the right side of the charge range, magnesium is on the left.

When a conductive medium is formed between two metals, charge transfer begins. As a result, one material becomes a donor, collapsing. Tanks of water heaters, not counting flow models, are made of steel. In some cases, the alloy is alloyed, gets the properties of stainless steel, in others it is covered with enamel. There is no third. If the protective layer is broken, the steel comes into contact with water. As a result, if copper lurks upstream, the process of electrochemical corrosion starts. All the more so because the small scratched area of steel accounts for the full impact force. Due to this, the process of electrochemical corrosion is fast. The tank starts to leak, damage is not subject to replacement under warranty or repair. Draw your own conclusions.

It is difficult to patch the tank - you will have to tear off the external thermal insulation glued (foam) to the walls from the outside. It is necessary to carry out and passivate the places of damage from the inside. The process is not simple and safe. Be clear - the operation of a water heater without a magnesium anode is unacceptable.

Please note that the tanks of flow models are made of copper so as not to install a magnesium anode, for which there is simply no place inside. A faucet made of non-galvanized steel will gradually be eaten away by corrosion. For protection, use a faucet made of galvanized steel (copper is not available).

Is it possible to put the Termex water heater upside down

The Termex water heater must not be installed bypassing the instructions. It happens that you need a device with an upper eyeliner. The solution is to buy a new water heater.

In the normal state, when the Thermex is hanging correctly, the intake tube inside the tank enters in the upper quarter, and the inlet in the lower quarter. The heating element is located at the bottom, between the spirals there is a probe of the thermostat, which is responsible for turning off the device in case of overheating. The temperature of the water is determined, not the heating element. How the circuit works:

Let's turn the tank upside down:

  1. Cold water comes in from above, hits the divider.
  2. From below, a part of the jet that has passed the heating element accumulates. The device does not withstand thermal conditions.
  3. It is worth opening the tap, as the fence will go from below. Hot water will gradually reach this point, it is possible to burn yourself.

It's okay until the water is turned off in the riser, and usually without warning. In normal condition, when the water heater is hung correctly, the water in the tank will not drop below three quarters. It is worth turning the tank over, the heating element will be in the air (a pillow will come out of the riser). It turns out - the spirals heat up, but the probe hanging in the air cannot correctly determine the mode. Spirals overheat and burn out. Warranty repair is excluded, get ready to tinker in the sediment and dirt of the tank to fix the problem.

The presence of a check valve in Termex water heaters

In the store, the check valve is marked with a water flow arrow and is associated with a bypass valve (ribbed fitting in the photo). It is necessary:

  • When water enters the tank from the riser (for the first time you will have to slightly open the mixer, give air current). The system works without it, just a pillow will accumulate on top, and when using the shower it will come off. We'll have to wait for time.
  • As soon as the pressure inside the tank is equal to the riser, the check valve slams shut. The heating element starts heating the water. The thermal expansion coefficient of steel is less than that of water. The tank begins to buckle under pressure. The valve does not let the water back into the riser. Deformation causes damage to the tank leading to cracks in the protective enamel coating and corrosion (see above). The bypass valve bleeds excess fluid when pressurized.

The non-return valve prevents the heated water from leaving the riser. It is permissible to use the water heater with an empty faucet. When the tap is turned off, the upper part of the tank is drained, but 80 percent will remain inside. To use it, at the inlet to the water heater, a tee is placed on the inlet pipe, water is taken through the valve if necessary. It is important to make the correct wiring diagram. The tee is between the water heater and the bypass valve.

Let us mention the rule of cutting a tee. Usually sediment accumulates in the tank. If you embed a check valve into the lower branch of the tee, when you turn off the water and try to empty the tank through the side branch, dirt will settle on the valve, which is unfavorable for the operation of the latter. The scheme looks advantageous when the water heater is powered from the side, and the emergency drain goes vertically down. In this case, we partially clean the tank without disassembling the tank and removing the heating element, which is very convenient. Take note.

Place a coarse filter near the riser - the non-return valve does not like dirt. The inner channel resembles the Latin V, set on its side. There is a mesh at the top, and according to the rules, the entrance wall has a negative slope (pointed down), dirt accumulates inside. Deviate from the rules, during a planned or emergency shutdown of water, rust will be washed into the riser. But no derogation is allowed. A worthy owner is able to clean the filter on his own. Signs: the tank is poorly filled, and the water drains well through the outlet. If cleaning did not help, the problem is in the non-return valve, the fittings should be removed and rinsed.

Before installing the Termex water heater, make sure that there is a convenient approach to the device. Quickly make sure: removing the heating element is not an easy task. If you do not want to reinstall the Termex water heater yourself, worry about scheduled maintenance in advance. The instruction manual clearly states how many times a year to clean the product by completely emptying the tank.

If you are one of those who do not want to put up with interruptions in the supply of hot water, then you need to purchase a water heater. It is only important to decide which type of equipment to choose. The device can be storage or flow. If you like the first type of device more, then you can pay attention to the Thermex ER50 V model. It is a medium-sized unit that has a small narrow body. This feature allows for convenient installation, because modern apartments often have a small amount of free space that could be used to install additional household equipment.

Overview of the main features of the heater

Thermex IF 50 V, reviews of which help to make the right choice, has an electronic display with which the user can easily set up the storage heater. Thus, at any time the device can be reset to the desired mode, which will be convenient to use. Thermex IF 50 V is characterized by reliable connections. The connection to the water supply system is made using metal elements that can withstand high internal pressure. Thermex IF 50 V, reviews of which are of interest to consumers, has a power of 2 kilowatts. According to users, this is quite enough for the water heater to provide the tasks. It is very convenient that you can install the device on the wall, as in this case it will take up less space. Before making a purchase, pay attention to the dimensions, which are 887 x 235 x 436 millimeters, this will allow you to fit the device into the room as harmoniously as possible. Consumers like that the device has a flat shape, but is quite roomy, because the tank volume is equivalent to 50 liters. This vertical water heater brand Thermex IF 50 V is able to raise the temperature of the coolant up to 75 degrees, which is possible with only one heating element.

Installation savings

You can install the device on the wall yourself, since its weight is small and amounts to 16 kilograms. Owners of country houses and apartments choose the described model quite often, since it has an acceptable cost - 11,900 rubles, and also comes with all the necessary consumables. That is why, before starting installation, you will not have to spend extra money on an electrical cord, fixing anchors, and a check valve.

Feedback on positive features

The Thermex IF 50 V boiler has many advantages. Sometimes, it is they who make buyers tilt their choice in his direction. The described equipment is characterized by excellent thermal insulation of the tank, and also provides fast water heating. Thermex IF 50 V, according to users, is easy to maintain, and it is quite easy to manage. The equipment is equipped with a tank self-cleaning system, as well as a water drain. If we compare with other models of similar equipment, it can be noted that this water heater provides water heating in a short time, the tank is fully heated in 1 hour and 20 minutes.

If you will do the installation work yourself, then it is important to consider that the diameter of the connecting pipes is 1/2 inch. The inner tank is made of stainless steel. As buyers emphasize, this significantly extends the life of the device. But the inside of the tank has no coating. You can see the quality of the device in practice, but the manufacturer vouches for this and provides a seven-year warranty on the internal tank. A one-year warranty applies to electrical components.

Installation instructions

Thermex IF 50 V, the placement instructions for which you should read before starting installation work, is located as close as possible to the place where hot water is used. This will significantly reduce heat loss in the piping system. You will need to hang the equipment by the brackets of the case, using the hooks of the anchors. The latter are fixed in the wall. Carrying out such work should exclude arbitrary movement of the brackets along the anchors. In order to ensure maintenance of the water heater, the distance to the nearest surface from the protective cover must be 30 centimeters.

Troubleshooting guide

Thermex IF 50 V, the instructions for use of which are supplied with the kit, may fail after a while. Users should learn how to troubleshoot. This will help to understand whether the case requires the need to contact specialists. Thus, if the pressure of hot water coming from the water heater has decreased, and the pressure of cold water has remained the same, then the cause may lie in a blockage in the outlet area.

If, using the Thermex IF 50 V water heater, you encounter the described problem, then it can be eliminated by removing and flushing the valves in water. If you notice that the heating period has increased over time, then this may indicate that the heating element has become covered with scale, sometimes a decrease in voltage in the mains indicates a problem. In the first case, the user will have to remove the flange, and then clean the heating element. In the second case, the owner of the equipment should contact the electrical network operation service.

Quite often, users are faced with the fact that from time to time the thermal switch button starts to work. This may be indicated by the fact that the set temperature is very close to the limit or the thermostat tube is covered with scale. Under the first condition, it is necessary to turn the thermostat knob in such a way as to reduce the temperature or set a certain temperature level on the control panel. If we are talking about the formation of scale, then the support flange should be removed from the water heater and the pipe should be cleaned of scale.

It sometimes happens that Thermex IF 50 V works, but does not heat the water, while the valve may not be closed, and in some cases it turns out to be unusable. Experts advise to close the valve, and in case of a malfunction, replace it. If you notice that the control lamp does not light up, and the water heater connected to the network does not increase the temperature of the water, then the thermal switch button may work. You should check if it is enabled. In this case, the device is disconnected from the network, the cover is removed, and the button is pressed. It must be held until you hear a click. After the cover is put in place, the power is turned on.

This article describes how to install and connect various models of Termex electric water heaters with your own hands without much effort.

Well, finally, the desired shining purchase at your home. And all that remains is to install and start using it. Well, it's time to get down to business.

How to attach

Installation of a water heater should begin with a thoughtful and scrupulous study of the instructions. After that, it must be properly installed on the wall.

Models of water heaters differ in the number of anchor hooks, those with a smaller capacity have three, and powerful ones have five.

Install the water heater vertically and with minimal distortion. During installation, it is recommended to use the building level. Heavy water heaters must be mounted on solid walls with full confidence that they will withstand this weight. Panel house is good.

If the house is brick, in this case, you need to make sure that the masonry is reliable and, if in doubt, strengthen it. Cut the seams, then again coat with a solution. There is an option in which the walls break through and are fixed with metal plates on the other side.

If, nevertheless, there are some doubts about the reliability of the load-bearing wall, then it would be better to pre-make a metal frame in the form of a frame, and already weld anchor hooks to it. This design should be attached to the wall, and the water heater should be hung on it.

Note: installation must be done in such a way that there is free access to the emergency switch.

The Termex range of water heaters includes compact models that allow installation in a small space typical of old-style apartments. There are also models that allow you to install the unit under the kitchen sink. But still, it would be better if the kitchen faucet is connected using a separate tube.

How to connect to water

If there are doubts about the quality of the water, it is best to install a cleaning filter. In this case, the life of the water heater will increase slightly.

It is advisable to use an annealed copper braided pipe for supplying water. Such a pipe is easy to shape and is not afraid of temperature changes. And the strength of such connections is very high, so that taps for shutting off water can be mounted on the tank itself.

After installing the water heater on the wall, cold water is connected to it. The combined valve, which is included in the water heater kit, is mounted on the branch pipe going to the water heater (blue).

Specialist's note: a conventional non-return valve is by no means recommended.

If a hopeless situation has arisen with the absence of the necessary valve, then a safety valve is also screwed onto an ordinary valve in order to relieve excess pressure created by the boiler.

If the valve is installed by hand, it should be noted that it is not necessary to tighten it too much on the thread, four turns are enough. This is necessary to prevent thread stripping on the pipe.

A prerequisite is the sealing of the junction. The valve may also be needed to drain water from the heater in case of repair. Although, draining water through the valve is a long process. It would be better, of course, if space permits, to mount a tee between the valve and the pipe. Then draining the water will be much more convenient.

Next, the branch pipe designed for hot water is connected either to a mixer or to a pipe that leads to a hot water tap. There are such models of water heaters, into which a third branch pipe is embedded. But according to the connection scheme, it is not used. In this case, you just need to securely muffle it.

Electrical connection

Electrical connection diagram of the water heater. (Press to enlarge) According to the instructions, before connecting the device to electricity, it is necessary to fill it with water.

Be sure to observe the position of the phase relative to the wiring diagram.

After connecting plumbing communications, the boiler must be filled with water, and only after that it is possible to connect the device to the electric current network. The rules for connecting a water heater are the same as for washing machines.

If the machine does not start, you must recheck all connections according to the connection diagram and, if necessary, correct connection errors. Otherwise, you may have to invite a specialist.

Water heaters with a power of not more than 2 kW can be connected to an existing outlet, provided that it is grounded and will be used only for this unit in the future. Do not use extension cords, tees, etc.

Well, finally, the unit started working, and hot water flowed from the tap in a thin stream. Termex has done everything for the comfort of your life. And of course, their skillful hands, where without them!
