  • The norm of rice porridge for a child at 8 months is 150 grams, at 9-10 months it increases to 180 grams, and at 1 year - up to two hundred;
  • If you notice abnormal bowel movements or poisoning, temporarily exclude the dish from your diet and contact your pediatrician;
  • At first, cook porridge only in water. Milk porridges are difficult to digest and often cause allergies, so this diet should not be introduced before 10-11 months. Some pediatricians do not recommend giving porridge cooked with milk to a child under one year old;

  • The finished porridge is stored in the refrigerator for no more than a day, but it is better to prepare a new dish each time;
  • It is not necessary to prepare complementary foods yourself; you can buy ready-made baby porridge. When purchasing, carefully check the composition, expiration dates and integrity of the packaging. The product must be appropriate for the baby’s age!;
  • Choose ready-made food that contains pro- and prebiotics, vitamins, minerals and healthy acids. Choose proven brands that have positive reviews from doctors and parents;
  • The composition of purchased rice porridge for a child under one year old should not contain gluten, fructose and sucrose, flavorings and various preservatives. It is advisable to buy a product without soy and lecithin, coconut and rapeseed oil.

How to cook rice porridge for babies

To make baby rice porridge, take medium grain rice and rinse in cool to cold water until it becomes clear. Pour the grains warm water and leave for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse the cereal with cold water and rinse again. This preparation will allow you to clean and protect the cereal as much as possible.

To prepare one serving of porridge, take 20 grams of rice and grind the grains in a coffee grinder, or you can take ready-made rice flour. Rice pour half a glass cold water(100 ml) and cook until tender over low heat for about fifteen minutes. The mixture should have the consistency of puree without lumps. After introduction, the porridge is gradually made thicker.

In the finished dish add a little ready-made diluted formula or breast milk and a few drops of vegetable oil or five to ten grams of butter. Salt and sugar are not recommended to be added to the recipe for children under one year old. As soon as the baby gets used to rice porridge, you can include various dishes with rice in the child’s diet.

Rice recipes for children

Milk rice porridge for children over one year old

  • Rice – 100 g;
  • Water – 200 ml;
  • Milk – 200 ml.

The rice is washed, poured with water and cooked after boiling for about ten minutes. Afterwards, milk is slowly poured into the mixture and cooked for about ten minutes, stirring the porridge regularly. Then cover the rice with a lid and leave for another ten minutes to steam. The resulting mass is ground through a sieve and a piece of butter is added to the finished porridge.

Meat puree with rice for babies

  • Beef or chicken fillet – 100 g;
  • Rice – 2 table. spoons.

Rice casserole

  • Boiled rice – 100 grams;
  • Green apple – 1 piece;
  • Pumpkin – 70 grams of pulp;
  • Quail egg – 1 piece;
  • Sour cream – 2 tablespoons;
  • Sugar – 2 teaspoons.

Cook the rice separately, peel the apple and grate it together with the pumpkin. Add an egg and one spoon of sugar to the sour cream, beat the mixture with a whisk. Pour half of the resulting sour cream sauce into the rice. Grease a baking dish with butter, place a layer of rice on the bottom, then put grated pumpkin and apple, spread the remaining sugar and pour in sour cream sauce. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 180 degrees.

Hedgehogs for 2 year olds

  • Minced beef – 0.5 kg;
  • Chicken egg – 1 piece;
  • Boiled rice – 100 g;
  • Carrots 1 – piece;
  • Loaf – 2 slices;
  • Sour cream – 200 gr.

Soak the loaf in milk, mash and add to the minced meat. Whisk there a raw egg and add boiled rice. Mix the mixture and add a little salt. Peel, cut and stew the carrots separately in vegetable oil. Then put a tablespoon of the vegetable into the minced meat and mix. Add sour cream to the remaining carrots and simmer further.
