Decorations for the New Year step by step. DIY New Year's decorations

The New Year is approaching. It seems that we just recently celebrated the Year of the Rooster, and soon the Yellow Earth Dog, the mistress of 2018, will take its place. And again you need to prepare for the holiday, think through the menu, put up a Christmas tree, decorate the house for the New Year, do everything yourself. There is some element of routine in this, but you can also enjoy it.

Children especially love making crafts with their parents. Pamper them, spend a few evenings decorating the house, create a magical atmosphere, then the approaching celebration will be felt more acutely, and all worries and problems will fade into the background.

We decorate the house with garlands, transform the chandelier

New Year's decor doesn't have to be complicated. Simple garlands can also become decorations. It doesn’t matter what you make them from: regular paper, natural materials or special materials purchased in craft stores.

Pine cones in New Year's decor

To make a garland of cones you will need cones and twine. This is if you want to do without decor at all. But garlands of pine cones, onto which bright bows made of satin ribbons are glued, look very beautiful. We will make just such a garland.

Vertical garland: stars

Most of us are familiar with horizontal garlands, which can be easily stretched between the walls of a room; they can be wrapped around a Christmas tree or hung along the walls, but there are also other garlands - horizontal. They fall from the ceiling like a waterfall. Let's make a garland of paper stars.

Draw a snowflake on a piece of paper. The template is easiest to make on checkered paper. You need to draw two lines intersecting at right angles. The segments from the center of the future figure to the edge should be equal. Then divide the four sectors exactly in half with new lines. The segments should be equal to the first ones or be slightly smaller.

Use the resulting template to make stars from decorative paper.

To make the star three-dimensional, you need to bend the corners with the vertices in half in one direction, and fold the internal corners in half in the other direction. Don't try to do everything at once. First, just mark the folds, laying out the workpiece each time.

Tie a thread to the resulting star.

Having made several stars, you can decorate a chandelier with them.

Workshop for making lighting items

It’s not for nothing that on New Year’s Eve everything around is decorated with glowing garlands. On the one hand, flickering dim lights are calming and pleasing to the eye, on the other hand, they create a festive atmosphere.

Decorative candlesticks

Candles are a special decoration. The candle flame radiates warmth, the dancing of its small tongues creating an iridescent effect. There are a lot of options for decorating candles and one of them is beautiful candlesticks. If you place a candle in a decorative candlestick, you will create a real festive atmosphere. Let's make decorations in eco style.

Roll small balls from plasticine.

Stick small spruce branches into these pieces of plasticine.

Trim the needles with nail scissors.

Decorate the branches with rowan berries by pricking them onto needles.

Use a brush dipped in glue to write the year or draw a design.

Pour artificial snow into the jar. Buy it in a store or grate foam on a regular grater.

Place spruce branches inside.

Tie a ribbon to the edge of the jar. Use it to secure the rowan branch.

If you have some acrylic paint and glitter or just want to make a candle holder with glitter, use the following instructions - they are very simple.

In previous master classes we used tall candles, but let’s not forget that there are tea candles that also look good in homemade candlesticks.

An eco-design option is orange or tangerine zest. The most important thing when making it is not to damage the peel when removing the slices. You can not only make a hole at the top, but also cut out small patterns in the form of hearts, monograms, snowflakes on the side.

Tea candles can float, using this property, we will make candlesticks with water, decorated with bare thin branches of deciduous trees.

Creative lamp with silhouette

In one of our articles, we suggested making New Year's decor on a windowsill with the silhouette of a winter city or forest. You can watch the master class. Now, using a similar principle, we will make a lamp.

You will need: corrugated cardboard, padding polyester, glue, heat gun, white paint, garland, a winter city made from thick cardboard.

We will need 6 long side blanks and 6 short ones. You can choose the size according to your preferences. Glue each wall together using three pieces of corrugated cardboard.

When gluing the front side, place a winter city blank between the layers.

Once the base is assembled, paint it with white acrylic paint.

Make a slot to bring out the wire of the garland that will be placed inside.

Coat the bottom edges of the box with hot glue and glue the bottom. Paint it white too.

Decorate the cardboard with glitter (first cover some areas with PVA glue).

To reflect light from the walls and bottom, place a piece of foil inside.

Wrap the lamp with padding polyester.

Place the electric garland tightly inside.

Cover the top with a piece of padding polyester.

Window decoration - drawings on glass

Windows are decorated using a variety of materials: they make colored gouache patterns, stick on paper snowflakes, protrusions and other decor. We suggest decorating windows with toothpaste diluted in water to create a frost effect.

Print and cut out several New Year's templates.

Make a soap solution. You can simply leave the soap in the water, or you can cut the soap and add water. Apply the solution to paper blanks.

Glue them onto the glass.

Squeeze the toothpaste into the container.

Add some water and stir.

Dip your toothbrush into the toothpaste solution. Using pressure along the pile, spray the solution onto the glass.

Peel the paper from the glass. Enjoy the airy New Year's silhouettes.

Christmas wreath

Lately, many people have associated the New Year with wreaths on the door. Inspired by the wonderful decorations seen in Hollywood films, it is worth making a wreath for yourself, especially since you can decorate doors, walls, put it on the table, add candles and a wide variety of decor. Traditionally, a Christmas wreath is made from spruce branches, but more affordable pine also makes good products; you can even use ordinary branches of deciduous trees or make a wreath from scrap materials.

To make a wreath you need pine cones, plant branches, berries,

vine or thin branches,

burlap, ribbons, scissors, twine, glue gun, dried citrus fruits,

as well as wire. Roll the wire into a ring.

Wrap it with tape.

Secure the spruce branches by pointing the branches in different directions.

Then secure the vine branches with twine.

Glue a bow from burlap.

Glue the bow between the spruce branches.

Then use a heat gun to glue the pine cones.

Then the rest of the decor.

Hang the wreath on the wall or door.

There is a separate section on our website where you will find not only master classes, but also numerous photos of wreaths made by professionals and amateurs.

Christmas tree decorations: toys made of cardboard, salt dough, paper

The Christmas tree rightfully occupies a central place in a house prepared for the New Year's celebration. Recently, there has been a tendency to decorate Christmas trees with handmade products. Let's try and do something.

For example, we wrap cardboard Christmas trees with twine and decorate them with sequins.

Freehand draw a herringbone pattern. Cut it out. Then make another blank from cardboard.

Glue them together with PVA glue. Need a thick base.

Lubricating the surface with glue, gradually wrap the toy with twine.

Use an awl to make a hole in the crown and thread through it.

Cover the top of the toy with glue.

Sprinkle with sequins.

When the glue dries, it will not be visible.

Using the same template, or cutting out templates like those in the photo, experiment with twine and acrylic paints.

Prepare: corrugated cardboard, acrylic paints, PVA glue, pencil, twine, acrylic varnish, brush, half beads.

Let's transfer the star and Christmas tree templates onto cardboard.

Let's cut out two Christmas trees. Let's glue them together. The toy should be thicker.

Now, in a chaotic manner, we will wrap the figure with twine and attach a loop.

We tear the napkin into pieces and, attaching it to the figure, cover it with PVA glue.

When the workpiece dries, paint it green.

We paint some areas with silver paint.

Then we cover it with acrylic varnish.

After the varnish has dried, decorate the toys with half beads.

An independent direction of decoration is crafts made from salt dough. Create these decorations with your children. Salt dough is generally recommended to be used instead of plasticine, and manual work is very important for the development of fine motor skills. Even a product sculpted by children's hands and coated with gold or silver paint will look cute and decorative.

Crafts made from salt dough, coated with gold and silver paints, look like real jewelry.

Let's make cardboard stencils in the shape of a heart, bell, dove, Christmas tree, crescent.

Roll out the dough, apply a stencil and use a utility knife to cut the dough along the contour.

Round the edges with your finger.

Then, using any objects that leave behind an interesting pattern, we make patterns on the surface.

Using a brush, pierce the dough, making a hole for the lace.

Such beautiful ornaments were created using buttons, a piece of lace, and mesh. If you glue large rhinestones, then attach them to the blanks, make recesses for them, just be sure to remove them before placing the figures in the oven. Dry the preparations in an open oven over low heat.

Sand dry workpieces along the edges.

Paint some silver.

Cover others with gold paint.

Glue the rhinestones.

Scatter glitter over the still wet paint.

When the paint has dried, coat the blanks with acrylic varnish.

Such toys are no worse than expensive Christmas tree decorations, rather, even better, because they are made with your own hands, which means they are unique.

And it’s generally worth starting a separate conversation about paper toys, because they are so diverse, and they are made using completely different techniques. First, let's learn how to make a paper lantern, which, by the way, can also play the role of a candlestick.

Stepping 1.5 cm from the edge of the sheet, draw a line along the long side of the sheet.

Do the same on the opposite side. Place dots on the lines every centimeter.

Then take a utility knife and, using a ruler, make a cut from the top to the bottom point. You need to place something hard under the sheet of paper so as not to cut the table.

Turn the sheet over to the other side and bend along the lines that we drew at the beginning.

Then start forming the lantern. You just need to glue the edges of the sheet together.

If you place the flashlight on the table, it will already take a convex shape, but you can increase the effect.

Glue a sheet of paper rolled into a tube inside and trim off the excess.

New Year's compositions

If you have free surfaces in your house on which you can put something bulky, for example, tables, bedside tables. Install New Year's compositions there. And we will tell you how to make them.

You will need a wide vase, several pieces of oasis for floristry. Trim the oasis so that the pieces fit well into the vase.

Place the oasis in a vase, fill the gaps with smaller pieces.

First, stick dry branches of approximately the same length along the edge into the oasis.

Then artificial decor.

If possible, you can add live plants.

Fill the middle with Christmas balls. Add small plant branches.

Decorate some areas with moss.

Place the composition where you can see it often. It is possible that after a while the branches will sprout green leaves, and spring will come to your home.

If the previous option seemed too complicated to you, we suggest the idea of making a house from cardboard and printed paper.

First, prepare cardboard stencils (they will also serve as the base).

Then transfer the stencils onto printed paper, cut with 1 cm allowances on each side and glue the cardboard base and paper blanks together.

Cut the paper at the corners.

Apply glue to the edge of the cardboard blank.

Fold over the edge of the paper.

Here's how the blanks turned out.

We wrap a piece of cardboard (place it on glue) with paper with a “wooden boards” print.

We prepare four cardboard blanks for framing the window, cut out two strips from the cardboard.

We cover each piece with printed paper.

On the back side of the part with the hole we glue strips of cardboard crosswise.

We attach a rectangular piece of napkin on top.

First glue the parts with windows to the base.

Then two other walls.

We decorate the joints with lace.

This is what the decor looks like from this angle.

Attach the roof with hot glue.

We assemble a porch from the remains of cardboard and also cover it with printed paper.

Glue it.

At the bottom of the windows and roof we glue a little padding polyester, imitating snow.

Christmas trees from branches: manufacturing instructions

If you are an ardent supporter of caring for nature, and do not put up a Christmas tree for the New Year only because you do not want to support the massive cutting down of trees, we suggest making a Christmas tree from twigs.

Purchase an oasis block from a flower shop.

You will also need: pruning shears, knife, scissors, twine, heat gun, flowerpot, tinsel.

Decorate the pots with tinsel. If you take a pot with holes, then put a piece of cellophane inside.

Place the oasis vertically in the flowerpot. Trim corners if necessary.

Use scissors to cut off any excess cellophane.

Cut the top of the oasis into a cone shape, but don’t make it too sharp.

Remove the needles from the part of the branch that you will insert into the oasis.

Stick a small twig into the top of your head.

Fill the oasis with twigs from bottom to top: there should be longer branches at the bottom, shorter ones at the top.

Decorate with lace, beads, and Christmas tree decorations.

And we’ll make another Christmas tree from bleached branches. To achieve this effect, you need to soak the branches, cleared of bark, overnight in a solution of soda ash.

Let's make a Christmas tree in a nautical style from branches. Collect and dry about 10-20 branches (depending on the desired size of the Christmas tree). Remove bark from branches.

Arrange in a Christmas tree shape, i.e. The branches are longer at the bottom and very short at the top.

Take the twine, tie a branch, make two knots, then tie the next branch and so on until the end.

Repeat on the other side. We make two knots so that there is a gap between the branches.

Let's make a loop.

We will make decorations from white beads. We string them on a thread and fix them on both sides with knots so that they do not slip on the thread.

Decorate with a starfish and glue it with hot glue.

Add a garland of beads and an LED garland.

Other decorations (cardboard sequins, frame with pendants, letters)

Creativity is difficult to put into any kind of framework, as is structuring ideas into areas. In this section, we have collected a variety of decor ideas that will definitely come in handy if you are interested in custom decorating your home.

First, let's make an imitation of a Christmas ball from cardboard and sequins.

Necessary materials and tools: cardboard, sequin braid, satin ribbon, glue gun.

Cut out a round piece from cardboard. Drop a little hot glue into the center, secure the end of the sequin ribbon, and so gradually, circle by circle, glue the ribbon.

Once the tape is in place, trim off the protruding cardboard.

Make a bow out of the ribbon and glue it to the edge.

Glue a snowflake into the center right away, because the middle, most likely, will not turn out very neat.

Hang the ornament on the tree or secure it to a wall or mirror using double-sided tape.

Speaking of frames, they are widely used to implement New Year's design ideas. Even an old frame that you were recently about to throw away, but didn’t raise your hand, can be easily decorated and turned into a meaningful piece of furniture.

You can frame any decorations or Christmas decorations.

Tie strings to the decorations that we will place in the frame and secure them to the frame. This can be done using hot glue and small nails.

Paint the frame in the chosen color with acrylic paints.

Decorate the corner of the frame with a spruce branch.

Additionally, decorate with artificial berries.

The latest trend in interior design is volumetric letters. They will come in handy if you are going to create original holiday decor. In general, they can be purchased in an online store, but why buy if you can make them, because we decided to do everything exclusively with our own hands.

Video: how to make three-dimensional letters from cardboard

So, the letters are ready, now let's make them glow. If you don't want to make three-dimensional letters from cardboard, regular corrugated cardboard from a shipping box will do.

Glowing English letters convey the spirit of American Christmas.

Remove the back of the letter.

On the outside from the inside, mark with a marker the location of the light bulbs.

Use a screwdriver to make holes according to the mark.

Use a pencil to line up the holes, inserting it from the front side.

Paint the letters with red paint or another color.

Disconnect the garland. Insert the ball from the front side.

Attach the base on the reverse side.

Papercraft: 3D paper volume

It doesn’t matter whether you know what papercraft is or whether you know how to work with paper. The main thing here is patience, because you will have to cut and glue a lot. We will create a simply delightful deer head in the Scandinavian style. All necessary templates are included. They are posted after the master class. The last 4 photos are templates for the horns. You can make them from paper of a different color. Open each photo in a separate tab at full size and print. So, let’s arm ourselves with everything we need, stock up on patience and get started.

To make this decoration, take colored paper, scissors, double-sided tape, glue, nail stick, and ruler.

Print out the templates. Cut them out.

Now you need to bend all the lines. To do this, use a ruler and bend the lines as shown in the photo,

or first press down the fold lines using a hard, narrow object, in this case a nail stack.

Dots and dashes indicate inward folds.

Single dashes - folds outwards.

Now we glue all the parts together according to the “digit to digit” principle.

Glue the deer's head on with double-sided tape.

This craft will create an indescribably festive mood.

Deer head templates

Perhaps some ideas are not useful to you, some you find difficult, but we hope that we helped you decorate your home, create a New Year's atmosphere and now you are ready to celebrate the New Year.

Hello everyone. It's no secret that being in a beautifully decorated room is often more pleasant than being in it in its usual state. That is why in this article I will tell you about DIY New Year’s decorations that will be relevant in 2020 and subsequent years.

Everyone knows the classic decorations for this holiday - garlands, balls, etc. But today we will plunge into the world of original solutions for this case.

DIY New Year's decorations for 2020: 100 simple ideas

If you want to properly prepare for the New Year, then for this case I have prepared for you 100 interesting ideas that can easily be made very quickly, but also use the most accessible materials.

What and how to decorate

As a bonus, I'll give you a decorating plan. It sounds scary, but it doesn't mean anything terrible at all.

This is the order I suggest:

  1. Doors. Classics of the genre - Christmas wreaths. But in Russia this is more of an adopted American tradition than a traditional New Year's decoration. In this case, you can decorate the door handles with pieces of garlands and lay out interesting patterns using them.
  2. Window. Of course, you can also attach garlands to them. But it’s better to purchase special stickers for windows, or cut out traditional snowflakes and glue them to soap. You can also make so-called vytynanki from paper - beautiful patterns and paper figures (snowflakes are a subtype of this ancient Slavic art form). They can also be used for cabinets, especially with glass inserts.
  3. Other passages and transitions. Curtains in transitions were once popular, forming an airy cascade of threads. So for the New Year, you can remember this good old fashion trend and make a kind of rain - hang several garlands or threads with flowers, animals, toys, made yourself or purchased.
  4. Walls. It’s impossible not to remember them) Of course, garlands will serve well here too.
  5. Ceiling. This also includes chandeliers.

New Year's decorations made of paper: master classes and photos

The first material for creating decorations for the New Year is, of course, paper and cardboard. After all, they are found in every home, and purchasing additional volumes of this pliable material is quite simple.

Paper window decorations with templates

Various types of window decorations are very popular in winter paper crafts. In the coming year, its symbol - the White Metal Rat - was given a special role. To decorate your windows with these animals, I suggest you look at these patterns.

Do you want to bring good luck into your home? Cut out rats from white paper and add silver glitter.

Here are the templates for the rest of the vytynankas (this is what winter paper window art is called). Among them you will find snowmen, bells, snow-covered expanses with fir trees and much more. Have fun carving!

Paper cubes with Santa, Christmas tree and snowman

In fact, there will be even more of these original and creative cubes! Along with them you will find little elves and a reindeer from Santa's carriage. You can put little surprises in these for children or use them as independent apartment decorations.

This is such a funny Santa.

Reindeer Rudolph, without whom Santa Claus is nowhere.

Snowman looking forward to the New Year.

Decorated festive fir tree.

And finally, the elf helpers are three kind kids.

These boxes were created by a wonderful girl under the nickname Hellohappycrafts. Thanks to it, you can download the designs of these holiday boxes in a large extension, which will allow you to experiment with the sizes of the finished decorations:

Download box scans

Of course, it is best to print them on a color printer and then cut them out. But if this is not possible, then you can paste elements from colored paper onto a black-and-white printed scan.

Other paper and cardboard interior decorations

If you have heavy metallic cardstock, some rhinestones, glue and ribbon, create a deer pendant like the one below. The laconic design will appeal to those who do not like an abundance of details.

To make a whole interior composition, stock up on several deer of different colors and sizes. Secure them with tsapon varnish (or PVA if unavailable) and sprinkle with glitter.

From the same series, a patterned New Year's star. You can cut out both decorations if you save each option to yourself and then print it out.

It's easy to make a mesmerizing garland from cardboard. To do this, you just need to cut several hundred circles and sew them on a sewing machine, sequentially connecting them together.

If there is no machine or you are not sure of the result, then slowly glue the circles to the thread to make the same garland as below. Use a satin ribbon or regular lace as a hanging ribbon.

Another option for a garland with stars. The technology for creating it yourself is exactly the same as the first one.

Several snowflakes made using the quilling technique can complement the garlands. These can easily be used to decorate not only a room, but also a school and classrooms. You can even devote a couple of craft lessons in elementary school to creating such snowflakes! After all, you only need to twist the strips of paper, sometimes squeezing the edge, and glue them together.

Don't know how to bake Chinese fortune cookies, but really want to try your luck? Make their likeness out of double-sided cardboard or thick paper. You just need to cut out a circle and fold it in a special way, putting a wish or prediction inside.

A small decoration from corrugated paper can be made by folding three diamonds of green and red colors like an accordion, and then connecting them with a ribbon.

If you want to make street lanterns, then I offer two options at once.

In the first of them you will need to fold a box using the origami technique. Such boxes can then be placed on a diode garland, creating an unusual diffused glow effect.

For exotic lovers, a Chinese New Year lantern awaits. For it, prepare red and gold cardboard, floss threads, a gold marker and scissors with glue. Cut the blank as shown in the photo below. Trace the edges with a marker, make a tassel from floss and gold cylinders from cardboard at the top and bottom of the lamp.

Such lanterns will decorate your garden or private home, becoming a highlight in your pre-holiday decoration.

We decorate the house, kindergarten and school

You can decorate a room for a holiday in a variety of ways, from a wreath on the door to snowmen made from cans with a variety of contents.

From felt and fabric

The most durable jewelry is made from these materials. Decorate your door with a winter wreath. It can be made from a base ring, terry yarn and felt elements chosen to your taste. Felt wreath details below:

  • three oak leaves,
  • bird,
  • three double flowers,
  • three snowflakes,
  • cat,
  • additional accessories: snowflake sequins, satin ribbon, buttons, feathers, artificial branches.

Cheerful fabric deer will turn out much more attractive if their legs and antlers are made from twigs wrapped in thread.

When we talk about New Year's toys, we only think about Christmas trees. But these photo ideas are actually cute winter toys. The deer, bear cubs and penguin are made from fleece.

An incredibly simple Christmas tree, the patterns of which can be taken directly from the photo. You can sew one like this in literally a couple of hours, and in a couple of days you can fill your whole house with plush Christmas trees! Decorate it with braid, embroidery, buttons, rhinestones and much more.

It’s even easier to make burlap angels; they literally consist of two parts sewn together. You get interesting decorations in the rustic style, especially if you add natural material as decoration (dried leaves, flowers, etc.).

We use satin ribbons

A very large number of New Year's decorations of various types are created from ribbons. Moreover, both as an additional element and in the main role.

The next option is suitable both for decorating a doorway and as an independent decoration (in case you have a large photo frame). You will need satin ribbons and empty transparent balls, which you can fill with anything you want. The frame can be painted to enhance the festive effect.

The following wreath is suitable for both home and office or study. In the latter case, you can choose a muted range of colors. To make one yourself, take two colors of satin ribbons and then follow the simple pattern below.

A small stylish Christmas tree that can be used as a hanging decoration in your car. A thick cord is used as a base, onto which ribbons are tied one by one.

For another Christmas tree, beads are also used. Lay the ribbon in loops, alternating with beads and not forgetting to place the entire structure on the thread.

Experimenting with other materials

Home decor knows no mercy! If you have a little imagination and patience, the most unexpected masterpieces can be born.

To create these snowmen you will need several jars (preferably plastic ones), which you can fill as you wish.

Do not connect jars together. Fill the snowmen with treats and stack one on top of the other. Now you can treat yourself to these compositions.

Create snowflakes from plastic cans. Cut the bottoms of several pieces and paint them with acrylic paints. Make fastenings at the base so that these decorations can be hung above a window sill or under the ceiling, or hung on a cardboard frame to create a Christmas tree.

You can quickly make an interesting decoration in the form of a snowflake from a wooden blank by painting the wood with acrylic paints.

Crafts with embroidered elements always look unusual. To make the decorations below, you will need a plastic canvas that can be covered with a felt insert at the back. The diagram is easy to remove from a photo.

To create a ball with buttons, take a foam blank and all the decorative elements. Make a loop from the lace and glue the rest.

Beads and wire are great companions. Using them, you can create seemingly simple, but so cute pendants with your own hands that you can use to decorate windows and, in general, the entire space of your apartment. They are easy to make - put a sufficient amount of beads of the desired colors on a piece of wire and bend them into the desired shape.

An original idea for exotic lovers - a winter-style dream catcher.

Christmas tree decoration

Again, you don't need any special materials. As they say, whatever is at hand (well, maybe a little more).

Christmas balls

It turns out that ball-type Christmas decorations can be made from a large number of different components. For example, take a foam base and attach sequins to it using small pins.

Or finally get rid of the annoying disks and split them into many small parts, which are then glued to a transparent plastic base.

A ball made of foil and cardboard also looks interesting.

Take a closer look at the New Year's ball made of pompoms.

You can’t live without textiles; using simple patterns it’s easy to create a masterpiece.

Plastic balls are a huge space for creative imagination. They can be covered with a thread frame or sprinkled with glitter or sequins inside.

I'll show you how to make a Christmas tree with your own hands - there are never too many of them for the New Year.

Take a mesh, PVA glue, paper, pins and glowing garlands. Make a paper cone. Soak the mesh in glue and wrap this cone, securing the mesh with pins. Wait until it dries and remove the paper backing. That's it, you can light it inside the garland

For light bulb penguins, prepare old light bulbs, ribbon for eyelets, acrylic paints and a pencil for drawing outlines.

In general, all you need to do is paint the light bulbs as you wish, attach eyelets and additionally decorate with various sequins, knitted and sewn elements, rhinestones, etc. Ready

The only downside to this idea is the need to get light bulbs somewhere.

Stars, stars

Prepare thick paper, glitter (can be purchased in woven ones), tape for fastening and PVA glue for the star. All you need to do is cut out a star, apply glue to it, attach a ribbon loop and sprinkle it with glitter.

What could be more pleasant on New Year's Eve (except receiving gifts, of course) than beautifully congratulating your family and friends? To do this, prepare felt, a base stick, glue, sequins, padding polyester and thread with a needle. For wishes - beautiful paper and pen.

Cut out two stars, cut off the edge from one of them. Sew the star along the edge, without sewing up the cut edge, stuff it. Decorate with sequins. Insert the rolled up wishes into the hole left. Sew a stick at the bottom and sew up the hole.

Another variation of the star is made from tree branches.

Pasta will also serve as an excellent material.

And thread options.

Let's take a different base

Felt will help you create the most fabulous decoration. To do this, cut out the animals according to the pattern, which you can take from the photo, and sew along the edge.

If you roll the feathers in glitter, you will get a cool decoration that can easily be hung anywhere in your apartment using a thread tied to the base.

A few more ideas for your creativity.

Decorations for the New Year's table

Of course, I also didn’t forget about the New Year’s table. I present to you a few ideas for him too.

To do this, prepare a tin jar, double-strand braid and braid with roses. Pins, glue and additional decorative embellishments will also come in handy. Wrap the jar with ribbons and secure. Decorate with a bow.

To create a Christmas tree you will need several fabric or paper napkins. All you need to do is fold the napkins in four and fold them according to the photo.

For candle decoration, take simple candles and sequins. Sprinkle sequins into the candle; you can melt it a little for this.

For lamps made from balls, a well-known technology is used. For it you will need an inflated balloon, PVA glue and thread (preferably thick).

Draw a circle on the ball near the tip (it will be needed for the hole). Gradually wrap the ball with threads soaked in glue, without covering the hole. When the structure is dry, burst the ball and take it out.

You can find even more ideas for New Year's crafts in this article.

Food is the main decoration of the holiday table. She could use cakes with winter patterns.

If you prepare a New Year's cake as a big gift, then the joy and surprise of your guests will definitely know no bounds.

Snowmen and cookie ornaments can become both a decoration for a spruce tree and a holiday table.

Small cakes with the simplest winter pattern - what could be better?

Christmas tree can be delicious too! If it is made from macaroons or cookies)

A separate topic is New Year's champagne. You can decorate it endlessly, but I will show you three cool options: with sweaters, satin ribbon and sparkles.

P.S. Subscribe to updates, save interesting material for yourself and come visit more often!

Sincerely, Anastasia Skoracheva

Christmas tree decoration: Christmas ball decorated with handprints

You will need:

A simple New Year's ball (without a picture) - glass or plastic

White acrylic paint

Brush

Markers (felt-tip pens)

Decorations to taste (glitter, tinsel, etc.)

1. Carefully paint your children's hands with white acrylic paint.

2. Let the children carefully pick up the balls with colored hands. Do not move your fingers so as not to smudge the print.

3. Use markers to complete the drawing. Add a scarf, hat, buttons, nose, handles.

4. Write the child's name and age on each balloon.

Now the toy can be hung on the Christmas tree.

Decorations for the New Year (photo): snowflake made of cardboard and rhinestones

You will need:

Cardboard cylinder for toilet paper or paper towels

PVA glue or superglue

Hole puncher

Decorations (rhinestones, sparkles, etc.)

1. Press down on the cardboard cylinder to make it flatter and cut out several rings of the same width.

* It is better if you measure the distance between future strips with a ruler before cutting.

2. Arrange the rings the way you want them to look and start gluing them to each other one at a time.

3. Add your desired decorations to make the snowflake even more beautiful.

4. Make a hole anywhere in the snowflake and thread a ribbon through it so that the toy can be hung on the Christmas tree.

New Year's decorations made of paper: snowflake from old cards

You will need:

Old postcards

Scissors

Stapler

PVA glue

Decorations

1. Collect all your old Christmas cards and cut them into equal strips (the same length and width) to make the snowflake symmetrical.

* The number of stripes depends on the snowflake you want to make - you can have an even or odd number. In this example there are 16 of them.

2. Divide the strips into groups, depending on the color scheme.

3. Connect the ends of each strip and secure them with a stapler. In the image you can see that the red stripes are bent in three places - in the middle, on the left and on the right at a distance of 1-2 cm. This is a little more difficult to do, but the snowflake will have more varied rays.

* You can first connect several strips into one group (in this example there are 4) and then connect all the groups (since the example uses 16 strips, 4 in a group, which means there will be 4 groups). Then simply connect all 4 groups with glue.

4. You can decorate the snowflake with rhinestones by adding a little glue and placing the decoration on it.

5. Add some ribbon so the snowflake can be hung on the tree.

DIY New Year's ball and its decoration

You will need:

Glass or plastic Christmas ball without a pattern

Scissors

Rhinestones (if desired)

PVA glue

1. Cut a sheet of felt into thin strips.

2. Stuff the strips into the ball.

3. If you wish, you can glue the rhinestone to the ball.

4. Tie another ribbon around the ball (you can secure it to the ball with glue) and tie a bow.

5. For a felt hat you need to make a small cone. Visit our article:How to make a cone- Using the same principle, a cone can be made from felt. You can also glue the hat to the ball.

DIY Christmas tree decorations: New Year's deer made from wine corks

You will need:

Several wine corks (you can buy them separately)

Toothpicks

PVA glue or superglue

Toy (plastic) eyes

Brown thin pipe cleaners or thin wire

Wire cutters

Pom-poms, plasticine or crumpled threads

Jewelry (bell, button)

1. Prepare the corks. The four pieces that will serve as the deer’s paws need to be cut on the sides so that they are narrower. It's worth noting that these plugs are sold separately and in different sizes - so you don't have to cut them.

2. Use one cork as the body and glue four narrow corks to it.

3. Take another plug. You can also reduce it a little in diameter (but not necessarily) - this will be the head of a deer.

4. Use a toothpick to connect the head and body. If necessary, you can shorten the toothpick so that the neck is not too long.

* You may need to use a separate toothpick to make holes in the corks in advance and only then connect the head and body.

*If you don't want to make holes in the plugs, you can use superglue and a match - break off about 3/4 of the match and apply it to it Superglue the ends, then glue the match to the head and body of the fawn.

5. You can make a nose out of a small pompom and glue it on. Instead of a pompom, you can use plasticine or crumpled thread.

6. Glue on the toy eyes.

7. Make horns from a thin brown pipe cleaner or wire - to do this, use wire cutters to cut them into several pieces of the same length. Use superglue to glue the horns to the head.

8. Add decorations - hang a bell or button.

9. You can add ribbon to hang the toy on the Christmas tree, for example.

Many people notice that the older they get, the more difficult it is to re-experience that magical feeling of a fairy tale and miracle that always came to us as children on New Year's Eve.

But we're in website We are sure that the New Year's mood will not keep you waiting if you make one of these wonderful decorations for your home and Christmas tree with your own hands. Almost all of them, with the exception of two or three, do not require much time and any special materials - they can be made in half an hour from what is at hand.

Stars made of threads

Wreath made of balloons and an old hanger

In just half an hour, you can make a colorful wreath by purchasing a couple of sets of inexpensive balloons. Blogger Jennifer, the author of this article, recommends straightening out an old hanger, but if you don't have one, a piece of strong wire will do just fine.

  • You will need: a couple of sets of balls (20-25 balls of different colors and sizes), a wire hanger or wire, fir branches, braid or a ready-made decoration for decorating a wreath.

Tablecloth made of snowflakes

A delicate and surprisingly festive tablecloth will be made from snowflakes, which we have gotten our hands on since childhood. You can sit down and cut out snowflakes with the whole family, and then lay them out on the table and fasten them with small pieces of tape. A wonderful solution for entertaining guests or just having lunch with the family during the holidays.

Multi-colored hats

The cutest colored hats can be made from leftover yarn, which can be used to make a garland for a Christmas tree or to decorate a wall. Or hang them on a window or chandelier at different levels. Children over five years old will also be great at making this simple decoration. See details.

  • You will need: a roll of toilet paper for rings (or regular cardboard or thick paper), scissors, colorful yarn and a good mood.

Lamp “Snowy City”

For this charming lamp, you need to measure a piece of paper around the circumference of the jar with a small margin (for gluing), draw and cut out a simple city or forest landscape. Wrap it around the jar and place a candle inside.

  • You will need: a jar, thick paper of any color, maybe white, any candle. Another option is to cover the top of the jar with “falling snow” using a special “snow” spray, which is sold in hobby stores.

Balloons with photos

A great idea for decorating a Christmas tree or as a gift for relatives and friends. The photo needs to be rolled into a tube so that it fits into the hole of the ball, and then straightened out with a wooden stick or tweezers. Small black and white rectangular photographs are suitable, and you can also cut the photo according to the shape of a ball or silhouette (as in the case of a cat in the snow).

  • You will need: plastic or glass balls, photographs, various things to fill the ball - tinsel, garlands, coarse salt (for snow).

New Year's lamps

And this miracle is a matter of five minutes. It is enough to collect balls, fir branches, cones and put them in a transparent vase (or a cute jar) and add glowing garlands.

Embers

Glowing garlands, hidden among cones, branches and pine paws, create the effect of smoldering coals in the fireplace or a cozy fire. They even seem to be heating up. For this purpose, a basket that has been lying on the balcony for a hundred years, a nice bucket or, for example, a wicker container for small items from Ikea will be suitable. You will find everything else (except for the garland, of course) in the park.

Floating candles

A very simple decoration for the New Year's table or for a cozy evening with friends during the New Year holidays - a composition with candles floating in a vessel with water, cranberries and pine branches. You can use cones, orange slices, fresh flowers and leaves from a flower shop - whatever your imagination tells you. And as a candlestick - deep plates, vases, jars, glasses, the main thing is that they are transparent.

Snowman on the refrigerator or door

Children will definitely be delighted with this - it’s fast, fun and very simple, because even a three-year-old can handle cutting out large parts. It is enough to cut out circles, a nose and a scarf from self-adhesive paper, wrapping paper or colored cardboard and attach them to regular or double-sided tape.

Snowflakes on the window

Interesting use for a glue gun lying around. In order to glue these snowflakes to the glass, just lightly press them to the surface. For details see our video.

  • You will need: a stencil with a snowflake drawn with a black marker, tracing paper (parchment, baking paper), a glue gun and a little patience.

Christmas trees-candies

You can build bright Christmas trees with your kids for a children's party or decorate a festive table with them. Cut out triangles from colored paper or cardboard, attach with tape to a toothpick and stick the resulting Christmas trees into the candies.

  • You will need: Hershey's Kisses or any other truffle candies, toothpicks, tape, colored paper or cardboard with a design.

Garland with photographs and drawings

New Year, Christmas - warm, family holidays. And it will come in very handy with photographs, children's drawings, and pictures. The easiest way to secure them is with clothespins, which can be decorated with hearts or snowflakes.

Origami star

Painted spoons

Ordinary metal spoons or wooden cooking spoons are transformed into interesting New Year's decorations using acrylic paints. Kids will definitely love this idea. If you bend the handle of metal spoons, you can hang them on the Christmas tree. And wooden spoons will look great in the kitchen or in a bouquet with fir branches.
