How to make a Valentine.

Valentine's card made of cardboard and woolen threads.

You won’t surprise anyone with traditional valentines, either it’s a non-standard fluffy specimen. For the manufacture of which, it is necessary to cut out a heart from thick cardboard, then remove the inner part, so that the side parts are about 1-2 cm wide. Then we take woolen threads, the best curly and always red, and we begin to methodically wrap the cardboard blank. The result is a very beautiful heart, attach a leaflet with a declaration of love to it with a carnation pin, your soulmate will be amazed at the work done.

How to make a valentine with your own hands from paper.

Method number 1. Valentine's envelope.

Cut out a large heart from paper, you can immediately write a love message on it. Next, bend the side parts inward (see photo below), turn the sharp part up, bend the bottom, then bend the upper closing part, and decorate the tongue with a rhinestone.

Method number 2. Volumetric heart.

We cut out two identical hearts from thick cardboard, then we prepare two strips 8 mm wide along the length of the side circles. Which we immediately glue to the side parts of one of the valentines, then glue the remaining valentine on top with a congratulation previously written by hand.

Method number 3. Volumetric Valentine's box.

We redraw the template below on thick pink paper, cut it out and bend along the marked lines, in right places glued with PVA glue. From above, the product can be decorated with a bow or rhinestones.

Method number 4. A beautiful valentine made from voluminous roses.

Cut out a heart-shaped ring from cardboard. Then we start creating roses, for this we draw a spiral on red double-sided colored paper, which we then cut out with scissors and wind it from the OUTER end onto a skewer, thereby forming a rosebud, as soon as you remove the winding from the skewer, the bud will take the desired shape. According to this scheme, we create the required number of buds, and glue them tightly to each other on a cardboard blank in the form of a heart. Beads or rhinestones can be glued to the center of each bud.

Method number 5. Wicker valentine.

According to the template below, cut out two strips with marks in the center, bend each of them in the center and create slits with scissors. After that, we proceed to weaving, simply alternating contrasting stripes. The result is a woven heart.

Method number 6. Beautiful postcard.

We take beautiful scrapbooking paper, fold it in half, get the base, then cut out a rectangle from orange paper and glue it to the center of the blank, cut out flowers, a bird and a heart, and also glue all the details to the surface of the postcard (templates are presented below, you can redraw). We tie a bow from a satin ribbon and also fix it on the surface of the postcard, inside we write a love message.

Method number 7. Beautiful voluminous origami heart.

A detailed way to create such a beautiful heart is presented in the photo below.

Method number 8. Panoramic heart.

Probably many in childhood had panorama books, such a heart is just from that opera. We look at all the stages of its creation below, in the same place you will find the primary template for redrawing. In short, we redraw the template on paper, cut it out with a sharp knife exclusively along the marked lines, bend it just above the top, thereby lifting the structure. We close the postcard.

Method number 9. Valentine's card with paper carnation flowers.

Fold the red paper in half, cut out a heart, but do not cut through to the end on one side to get the effect of an opening postcard. From pink paper we cut out strips 10 cm long, about 8 mm wide, cut each of them on top into a fringe, then wind it on a skewer, thereby forming a flower bud. We glue the finished flowers to the surface of the valentine, and the product can also be decorated with quilling patterns or complemented with rhinestones.

Method number 10. Valentine's boat.

We fold a boat out of paper (the stages of creating a boat are shown in the photo below), glue a match from a skewer in the center, and instead of a sail and a flag, hearts with a love message.

How to make original valentines from paper clips.

An ordinary sheet of paper with a love message can be decorated with valentine hearts made from red paper clips. To do this, take a paper clip, and bend its long edge up, photo below. It turns out at first glance krakozyabra, but putting it on a piece of paper, you will see a cute heart.

How to make a valentine with your own hands from semi-pearls and cardboard.

We cut out 2 identical hearts from cardboard, leave one of them whole, cut out the second in the form of a heart-ring, so that the middle is empty. We glue it on top of the whole heart, and inside we glue the semi-pearl beads. From the back we glue a ribbon, which can also be glued between valentines, thread a key onto the ribbon, and give it with the words "this is the key to my heart for you."

Valentine's card on a clothespin.

We take a wooden clothespin, write “message to you” with a marker on it. On the end part, where the clip is created, we draw an envelope with paints. Next, take a tiny rectangular paper, write “I love you” on it, and glue it to the back of the clothespin. When pressed on the top of the clothespin, it will display a love message.

Valentine's card from fresh flowers.

We cut out a heart from cardboard, and glue rosebuds on short cropped legs to it. The result is a very beautiful live Valentine.

Felt Valentine.

From red felt we cut out two hearts of the same size, and also from white felt one heart smaller, sew a white heart to the center of the red one with a sewing stitch, then sew two red ones.

Stone valentines.

On the street, you can look for heart-shaped pebbles, which are then painted with red emulsion paint.

Valentine's card made of wire and thread.

From the wire it is necessary to form a heart, which is then abundantly wrapped with red threads. The result is a very beautiful product, especially given the ease of its manufacture.

Valentine in a bottle.

How nice to receive on Valentine's Day, which is celebrated on February 14 and is dedicated to Valentine's Day, a small present in the form of a heart - the so-called "Valentine"! During my youth, such a holiday was unknown in Russia, and we gave gifts exclusively on February 23 - for boys, and on March 8 - for girls 🙂

But the wonderful holiday of St. Valentine, not tied to any political dates and official celebrations, quickly fell in love with many, and became very popular in our country. Give and receive valentines, notice the symbols of hearts everywhere and plunge into the atmosphere of general light insanity - why not?

Appeal to mothers and grandmothers!

If you are young in soul and body, if you are in love, give and accept signs of attention! If you are only young in soul, and the body no longer wants to fit into the atmosphere of a youthful holiday, spit on his grumblings and take glue and paper in your hands - is your body still capable of this ?! Make a beautiful and unexpected valentine with your own hands, show your children and grandchildren a master class, prove that there is still “gunpowder on our street”!

And even though there was no such holiday in our youth, we knew how to make handicrafts better than the current “generation of computer geniuses”. Hands remember!

Of course, you can buy a ready-made postcard. But is it so pleasant for both the giver and the one who receives the gift? After all, spending effort, thinking about who you are preparing a gift for, creating a surprise with your own hands, you experience unique feelings of joy and anticipation - and this is the same, unique atmosphere of a REAL HOLIDAY!

Moreover, such an amazing thing in terms of its capabilities as the World Wide Web offers us many options and ready-made solutions, even in the photo, even on the video, in step-by-step lessons and master classes, with detailed description and show the result.

I have prepared such a selection for you today - choose the most interesting version of the Valentine for you and - forward, to creative success!

Do-it-yourself valentine envelope made of paper - we do it with children!

Such funny animals that give valentine hearts can be easily and simply made from plain paper, along with children - I think they will at least not be bored! After all, you can invent and create absolutely any animal - a bear cub, a kitten, a bunny, and even one that no one else has invented before 🙂 Show imagination in the image and accuracy in work - and you will get a wonderful original valentine in the form of an envelope with a secret message for the holiday February 14, and not only!

What to cook:

  • sheet of cardboard or thick white paper
  • red paper for a heart
  • glue
  • colored pencils or markers or paints
  • scissors, ruler, pencil
  1. Take a regular sheet of thick paper or white cardboard.

  2. Bend in half, make a fold.
  3. Make a cut along the fold with scissors - we get 2 blanks for our valentines.
  4. Lay out the rectangle as in the photo. Mark with a ruler with a simple pencil 2.5 cm from the vertical edge two points and connect them with a line.

  5. Do the same on the other side. It turns out, a kind of field of 2.5 cm wide.
  6. Now, from above, set aside a line in this way 5 cm from the top edge, putting two points and connecting them with a line.
  7. Everything above the line will be the muzzle of our character. On the side, you need to outline two semicircles - paws with which he will hold the envelope. Draw the paws below the horizontal line, stepping back from it by about 1 cm. Down
  8. Here is such a muzzle and paws of the future dog turned out on a sheet.
  9. We take scissors and carefully cut out all the contours along the lines of the pencil. If you are making a valentine with children, help them cut out difficult places - as in our example, the dog's ears.
  10. We bend the lower part up - corner to corner. We paint the pencil muzzle with colored felt-tip pens or pencils. You can also make an application from colored paper - here only your imagination will tell you how best.
  11. We bend the paws on top and draw claws on them.
  12. From a piece of red paper, cut out a heart of any size you like, and glue it in the center. Be sure to use red - it's traditionally happened on Valentine's Day - for some reason, hearts are always red or pink.
  13. Now we will make an imitation of an envelope - we will draw diagonal lines from the corners to the heart.
  14. Open our valentine envelope and draw lines for writing inside our gift with a colored pencil or felt-tip pen.
  15. You can draw a few hearts - it will be even more interesting. Well, do not forget to write the message itself - after all, any Valentine is a declaration of Love and Friendship!
  16. Here are some funny little animals you can create. Colored parts can be painted or glued with an additional layer of paper of the desired color.

Do-it-yourself volumetric paper valentine - 3D hearts for Valentine's Day.

Very beautiful, voluminous valentine card with 3d hearts. The postcard is beautiful, but quite difficult for possible beginners due to the numerous folds and slots - everything needs to be done carefully, so immediately make sure your hands are clean, press the paper not with your fingers, but with a plastic handle of scissors or another object. You will have to tinker, but we will definitely cope with you, because we have step by step photos the whole process!

To make it, we need to take:

  • 2 sheets of beautiful red paper for hearts
  • 2 sheets of white cardboard (heavy paper) of a standard size
  • black marker or felt-tip pen for tracing hearts
  • strips with rhinestones on sticky tape for decoration
  • a simple pencil, ruler, scissors, double-sided tape (but glue is also possible)

  1. We fold each sheet of cardboard in half, precisely combining the corners so that there is no skew.
  2. We will set aside one cardboard box, we will work with the second - with the base. Lay the folded sheet with the fold toward you and measure a 4 cm high line that is 3.5 cm from the edge. We symmetrically make the same line on the other side. The incision is made exactly along these lines.
  3. Now we remove the concept of two-dimensional space from our heads and move on to volumetric 3D modeling - we bend the fold between the two slots in the other direction. You should get such a design, as in the photo below.
This is the outer side, and on the inside (open our postcard, as you open a book) - it turns out such a step. Did you manage? Wait to rejoice, it's still flowers!
  4. Now let's wrap our step inside the postcard and close it by going to the outside. From the outside, our postcard should look like this. Now we must do a similar procedure with the inner fold of the postcard - set aside from the edges of the fold 2 cm inwards and 3 cm upwards.
  5. We make cuts again along the marking lines.
  6. To make it easier to bend the sheet in this place, attach the ruler to the ends of the cuts and wrap the sheet on the ruler, iron the fold line.

Now open the postcard again and redirect our fold in the opposite direction - to again get a ledge-step on the inside of the postcard.
Do this on the other side - now we should have 3 steps.
  7. At this stage, we could already stop, but we are not looking for easy ways. Let's take another step! Along the inner fold, we again set aside the markings for the last cut - 2 cm from the edge and up.
  8. But we will cut through only one upper fold (and not the entire thickness!).
  9. Thus, we have another upper small step. Phew, you can exhale, then everything will go much easier!
  10. We take our first cardboard box - it will be the outer, front side - we need to attach our “stepped” model to it. It is convenient to do this with double-sided tape, but you can get by with ordinary glue - the main thing is not to pour a lot of it so that our valentine does not wrinkle or warp. We glue both parts and get a smooth cover on the outside and a stepped design inside the valentine. Now you need to decorate it with hearts.
  11. Let's make a heart template - best of all 3 different sizes. Two or three large hearts, many medium and two or three small ones.
  12. Outline our pencil sketches of hearts with a black marker and cut them out with scissors.
  13. Now is the time to show your artistic abilities - beautifully and highly artistically, with the taste of a true designer, you need to scatter our hearts on different levels so that it looks beautiful. If you can’t trust your taste, do it exactly according to the photo, perhaps it will be fine.
It is very convenient to attach hearts to pieces of double-sided tape, but you can also use glue.

  14. Well, this is how it all looks. Everything already looks elegant, but there is no limit to perfection - let's do the last part of the design - decorate with strips of rhinestones.

Here we have such a “heart-strass” splendor! True, there was no place left for text congratulations, but with such an abundance of red hearts, words would probably already be superfluous! What do you think?

“Heart in the palms” is a very simple and quick paper valentine. Can be done with children.

What materials are needed:

  • red and white paper
  • glue, pencil, ruler, scissors
  • pink or red pencil (felt pen)
  • needle and thread

  1. We take our (or someone else's!) hand with the thumb pressed, put it on a piece of paper and circle it. Cut out the hand stencil.
  2. We bend thick white paper (or cardboard) in half and lay our stencil on the fold line so that the “little finger” is along this line. We cut everything to the fold so that the card can open like a book.
  3. From red, double-sided dyed paper, cut out the same squares, about 6 cm each side. On one of them we make a diagonal fold and draw a half of a heart. This will be our template.
  4. We also bend the remaining squares, fold them one by one and, applying a template, cut out hearts.
  5. We sew the resulting stack of hearts with a fold in the middle onto the inside of the fold of our “palms”, leave a knot of thread on the side of the hearts. Then we will close it.
  6. Glue the halves of the hearts to the palms with glue.
  7. We also glue together the two halves of the uppermost heart, at the same time hiding the traces of stitching.
  8. We circle the “palms” with a pink felt-tip pen, not forgetting to paint on the details inside - folds and lines on the fingers. All! Our voluminous paper valentine is completely ready - you can give your loved one your heart in your palms!

Making this valentine is very simple, but there are some tools that will need to be prepared. In particular, it is difficult to do without a hole punch - to create the same even holes, and special curly scissors, since cutting all these waves by hand on many details is not at all interesting and it will not work out exactly - but the sameness of details and accuracy are important here.

We will need:

  • pink and white paper
  • acrylic paints(yellow and white)
  • glue
  • green pencil or marker
  • round head pin
  • a piece of pretty ribbon
  • hole puncher
  • curly scissors

So let's get started!

  1. We “clone” the heart template of the size we need to the number of 7 pieces from a sheet of pink paper.

  2. Glue a pink heart on a larger white sheet.
  3. With the help of curly scissors, we make a beautiful edge treatment, so that a white wavy outline appears around the pink heart, reminiscent of braiding when sewing.
  4. We need 7 pieces of such blanks.
  5. Each heart needs to be decorated with daisies. To do this, take a pin with a round head and, dipping it in yellow paint, draw the centers of the flowers - 3 daisies, as in the photo below. Around each middle, draw white petals in the same way.
  6. With a green pencil we add leaves - two for each flower.
  7. We make neat holes in each heart with a hole punch. We pass a piece of festive ribbon through them.
  8. We tie a bow and cut exactly the edges with sharp scissors.
  9. Our gentle valentine with chamomile mood is ready. It remains to write on the reverse side of the first heart the name of the object of our donation, and on the remaining ones - your wishes, and everything that you would like to convey in words.

Exquisite valentine using the scrapbooking technique - Master class with step-by-step photos.

This is what a closed valentine card looks like.

Turning the paper lever, we open our postcard and there we see a surprise message.

To make this stunningly beautiful and sophisticated valentine, we will need materials that are sold in craft stores or scrapbooking departments (in bookstores). There you can always find all the necessary parts, accessories and tools. It is good that now all this can be ordered directly through online stores.

What to cook:

  • pink and white paper for scrapbooking (can be used for watercolor, or other thick paper)
  • semi-beads on a sticky basis
  • artificial flowers for scrapbooking
  • piece of lace, piece of lace
  • rivet with split ends - brads (these are stud buttons with a flat flexible forked leg made of soft metal)
  • glue and glue gun (can be replaced with colorless superglue)
  • curly and regular scissors

When everything you need is prepared - the process of creating a valentine heart will not cause us any problems - everything is quite simple.

  1. From plain white paper, we cut out the shape and size of the heart we need.
  2. According to the template, cut out a heart from pink thick paper.
  3. Tint the edges of the heart with a slightly pink pencil, of a darker shade, to visually darken the border.
  4. From red thick paper with a template applied to it, using curly scissors, cut out the blank. Cut out so that the wavy edge protrudes beyond the edge of our template size.
  5. We glue a pink heart on a red blank with a curly edge.

  6. Cut out a rectangle from red paper and glue it on top of the pink layer.
  7. Now cut out a slightly smaller rectangle from white paper and glue it on red.
  8. And on the corner we will glue another small red heart. Our blank number 1 is ready.
  9. Now we will transfer the heart template to red paper with a pencil, but we will not cut it out yet. Our task is to make another red heart, a little smaller than our template. To do this, manually draw another one inside the pencil contour - a little less. On it we will make a crop. This will be the second piece.
This is how it should look like when applying the second blank to the first.
  10. For the second heart, you need to make a decoration-bouquet. Let's start with the ribbon - make two loops and glue them together at the base.
  11. From the lace braid we will make one larger loop and place it at the base, on the bottom layer. Glue this beauty on a heart - place it not in the center, but a little asymmetrically, as done in the photo below.
  12. Now we need 3 flowers. If there is a stalk, cut it to the very root. Attach three flowers to the base of our decoration on the glue gun, covering the cut and fastening points of the braid.
  13. We transfer one half-bead to our heart, gluing them along the edge of the heart.
  14. Now we cut out a “lever” from pink paper - cut a strip of paper in the shape of an arrow, cutting off the corners. Glue on the back side of our second blank.
  15. We combine both blanks and with a sharp knife we make a small hole at the base of the heart.
  16. Pick up our rivet and insert the legs into the hole from the front side.
  17. On the reverse side, spread the legs of the brads to the sides and press firmly against the paper.
  18. So that these legs do not stand out, we close them with an application in the shape of a small red heart.
  19. Check how our "mechanism" works - the top heart should move easily over the bottom, revealing to us a secret message ... Which still needs to be managed to be written on a small piece of white paper. But that's a completely different story... 🙂

The approach of Valentine's Day awakens romantic notes in our souls, which we may be trying to muffle. After all, the pragmatism of the world around us sets us up for a practical approach to life. But despite all our commercialism, on the eve of Valentine's Day, we suddenly begin to enthusiastically look for a gift for a loved one, come up with touching words of congratulations and even make DIY valentines. And who's to say it's not great?

This custom came to us from the Middle Ages, when lovers began to send cute postcards to their loved ones for Valentine's Day. It all started with a note sent in 1415 from a London prison, or rather from the Tower, by Duke Charles of Orleans to his wife. It is she who is recognized in the world as the first greeting card - Valentine. And today, on Valentine's Day, heart-shaped valentines are still given to each other, on which sincere declarations of love, marriage proposals, and sometimes just jokes are written. Among the Italians, besides everything, this February day is called nothing more than a sweet day, when lovers exchange gifts in the form of sweets and sweets. But they also send valentines by mail in pink envelopes without indicating a return address. But it is customary for the Danes to send white dried flowers to each other. For Spaniards, the crown of passion is a love letter sent with carrier pigeons. Interestingly, this day is also celebrated in Japan, where on Valentine's Day it is customary for all male colleagues to give chocolate, referred to as “service chocolate” (or “giri-choco”). This custom appeared somewhere in the seventies of the past, when a box of chocolates given to a man was compared with a declaration of love. And in recent years, Japanese women have a ritual to buy such sweets on Valentine's Day as a gift to themselves or their girlfriend. The new custom was called "friendship chocolate" (or "tomo-choco"), and also "chocolate for oneself" (or "jibun-choco").

We are already talking about how to make valentines from buttons.

Before Valentine, it's time to master the art of quilling.

It is customary for our lovers to give hearts in the form of postcards. Today it is fashionable to do very beautiful handmade valentines. To do this, it is enough to have a desire - and everything will work out for you. Neither the scarcity of the material, nor the lack of skills will stop you: all this is needed in the very minimum amount. And if, moreover, you know how to do something masterfully, then so much the better: make a heart out of wood, if you have experience with this material, sew from fabric, if you can just hold a needle in your hands, bake from dough if you love to cook. The custom of giving valentines has never limited anyone in choosing the type of card, the main thing is sincerity and diligence, and then everything will work out for you!

Probably everyone will be happy to receive such a wonderful postcard envelope.

From cardboard, rhinestones, beads and paper, you can make a Valentine card.

Here is a detailed tutorial for you.

The best valentine is an edible valentine. Make a box for her, guided by the master class below.

For example, a funny miracle valentine can be made from an ordinary matchbox. This method allows you to leave a secret message of love inside the box that can give dear person a lot of positive emotions and smiles. After all, it is on this day that you really want to receive such a testament of love as a gift from your loved one. Yes, and I myself really want to give my soul mate something as a keepsake, something that would warm his heart and just do something nice. To make our valentine, you will, of course, need a matchbox, as well as a sheet of thick colored paper for decorating the box, a sheet of paper for the congratulation itself, a knife (stationery), scissors, pencils and felt-tip pens, a ruler, glue and decorations for decorating a valentine . There are several ways how to make a valentine's day in the shape of a matchbox. The first is to paste over the finished matchbox with a sheet of bright colored paper, decorate with colorful ribbons, homemade flowers, buttons, beads, hearts and other cute trinkets. The second is to first make a box according to a ready-made template: transfer the diagram to a hard colored cardboard (A4) and cut out a pattern for a future valentine card. Then, using a ruler, bend the parts along the bend lines and fold the box, lubricating the valves inside the box with glue and inserting them into the slots that appeared after folding the sides of the box. Now it remains only to decorate the Valentine. And in the end - it's up to the small: to find what to put inside the box. For example, you can make a booklet. by the most simple option maybe a two-page book. You can make an accordion from several pages on which any drawings or inscriptions for Valentine's Day are applied. Another option is an eight-page book. What to fill it with? Trust me, your heart will tell!

On black cardboard, you can stick white circles and end up with a beautiful Valentine.

And this is how a heart box is made for Valentine's Day.

The simplest and most touching Valentine.

To make a booklet, you need to print out its template from thick paper. The color is chosen according to your taste or made to match the valentine. Then, from separate sheets, you need to make a booklet, with a ruler, align all the edges and folds of the valentine. It is also important to be able to tastefully decorate the message: paint it with cute hearts, flowers, decorate with an elegant frame, write a congratulation and give this wonderful Valentine to the person you really love very much.

Still wrapping gifts in the store? Forget about it. Download, print and make a heartfelt gift for February 14th.

Can be crafted original handmade valentines, using many other unpretentious methods. So you can use thick double-sided paper or thin cardboard. First, a blank is cut out according to the size of a standard postcard, for example, 14 × 20 centimeters, and bent in the middle. On thick paper or cardboard, preliminary embossing is done at the places of future folds using an empty pen and ruler. To decorate a valentine, a blank is cut into the inside of the card. Its shape, of course, is in the form of a heart. But inside it, too, an incision was made, repeating the shape of the base. After that, embossing is done along the fold lines. Folds are made, along which the valves and a small heart turn inward, and you can glue the same one on a small heart, but from paper of a different color. Valves are lubricated with glue. The blank is glued so that its middle coincides with the fold of the postcard. To do this, you just need to put it in the center and press those areas where the valves are located, smeared with glue. And, of course, the fields of the valentine must be arranged as you wish. This option can be diversified: make several of these voluminous opening hearts inside the card, decorate them with lace, tinsel and other tricks. You can use electronic elements with a touching melody. It would also be appropriate to make ties in the form of small bows of bright braid. Cardboard or leather "thongs" for closing the postcard also look interesting. In general, the scope for imagination is simply limitless!

And for such a valentine, you should master the quilling technique.

Get your paper strips ready.

Cut out the heart with curly scissors.

Cut out the center with a utility knife.

Wind strips of paper around a toothpick and place them inside the heart.

Now fasten the composition with glue. Wipe off the excess with a tissue.

Now let our valentine dry.

Decorate the composition with a golden ribbon.

With the help of the Internet, you can choose another original way making a valentine with your own hands, a master class with step by step instructions and illustrative photographs will help in the process. Of course, even more convenient is a video with a full lay-out of the progress of work on the postcard. So, first, a blank is made for a valentine and cut out of paper of the desired color. The dimensions of the inside of the postcard are 14 by 28 centimeters. The horizontal line of the pattern must be drawn so that it is exactly in the middle of the workpiece. The inscription "I love you" on English language after cutting through part of the side contours (and in the hearts - the drop-down central part) will act against the background of the entire opening valentine. Oh, by the way: the word "love" and the dot over the "i" in the text are replaced by hearts. And the fallen parts can be used when decorating other valentines or gift wrapping. Upon completion of the cutting, it is necessary to fold the liner along the lines pre-embossed with an empty pen. The result will be a kind of folding bed, like children's books: a postcard will open and the drawing will become voluminous. But only the inner half of the card is prepared in this way. It will also need to be glued to the base cover, for which a sheet of colored paper or cardboard measuring 32 by 16 centimeters is taken. Moreover, cardboard can be taken in any color, but it is important to consider that it will become visible through the cut out inscription. The inside is glued to the cover with glue or double-sided tape. It is also important to ensure that the middle fold exactly matches, otherwise the postcard will subsequently become poorly opened. The fields remaining at the edges can be beautifully trimmed with curly scissors, making them look more original. As for the cover itself and the inside of the valentine, they can be decorated as soon as you want, which largely depends on the person to whom it is intended.

But such valentine envelopes are suitable for a dinner party and just to hand them to loved ones.

Cut out several envelopes from red cardboard according to the template.

Glue and do not forget to write a couple of kind words.

To make non-standard DIY valentine hearts, you can even use springs on which cute fluttering wings are attached. For such a valentine you will need: thick paper for the base of the postcard, flexible wire with a diameter of half a millimeter, adhesive tape (double-sided) with a foam base and colored cardboard. First, a pattern is drawn based on the future postcard. Wings are cut out of A4 white cardboard, and a heart is cut out of red cardboard. A wire is wound onto the stem of the pen to create a spring, the middle of which is straightened for fastening in a postcard. Then the wings are attached to the ends of the wire with pieces of adhesive tape. The protective film must not be removed. On the basis of two pieces of cardboard measuring 3 by 1.5 centimeters, a valentine is formed: cardboard is attached to the adhesive tape, adhesive tape is again on it, then a spring with wings, adhesive tape is attached to it, again cardboard and adhesive tape. Then the film is removed on the back half and glued on the basis of the postcard. The film is also removed on the front half and a heart is attached. In this case, a heart is obtained, slightly raised above the level of the postcard and decorated with wings on trembling springs. Such a product may well become a decoration of a car interior if it is hung on an inconspicuous fishing line, and while driving, the heart will touchingly “fly” on snow-white wings.

Such an unusual valentine can even be a pendant.

It can be made from paper or plastic.

It turns out that even a child can make unusual valentines with their own hands. One of these postcards is made of thick cardboard as the base of a postcard, a piece of newspaper or a page of a glossy magazine, a lace ribbon, a piece of felt and colored paper. At the same time, a background of colored paper is glued onto a cardboard base card, and a newspaper square decorated with lace and a heart is glued onto it. Another creative way is a postcard with a heart made of buttons of different colors and shapes, decorated with a congratulatory inscription resembling embroidery with the rest of the tip of the thread. But a wax heart can be made in a silicone mold (for baking cakes) from children's wax crayons, which crumble into a mold and melt at high temperature. After the heart has cooled, the valentine is considered ready.

If among your loved ones there are those who read books in the old fashioned way, then you can make such a wonderful leather bookmark.

Let's start by cutting out the template. Fold a sheet of paper in half.

Draw a heart in the corner and cut it out.

Now we have a finished template.

Now we will transfer the template to a piece of leather or leatherette.

It remains to glue the corner or sew with a machine.

A very cute gift.

A panel of coffee beans looks very funny. It is carried out very simply, but if you do it carefully, and even add a successful frame, you will get a very original valentine. First, a heart is cut out of cardboard, the size of which is not limited, but, perhaps, it should not be larger than a tea saucer. Black or brown plasticine is laid out on the cardboard in an even layer, 3.5 mm thick, on which coffee beans are attached. Of course, you can also use a glue gun, which will greatly simplify the work. You need to start laying the grains from the edges: this way they will lie more evenly and cover the edges of the cardboard. After that, the grains are laid out in a spiral towards the center. The workpiece must be placed in the refrigerator for 20 minutes, as a result of which the plasticine will harden. The finished heart is attached to the cardboard with glue, and it is better to use a material with a textured rather than a smooth surface, and the finished panel is inserted into the frame. Such a declaration of love can decorate a kitchen or another room, and its meaning will remain relevant for the whole year.

Who said that valentines can be made of paper. For example, this is how you can decorate white dishes for a romantic evening. Mix together 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon of water, and 2 drops of liquid food coloring.

Subtle nature will appreciate the gift.

From hearts cut out of beautiful colored paper with a floral pattern and superimposed on each other, it sticks together do-it-yourself voluminous valentine. Many people like a book-heart, the pages of which can be covered with poems or tender confessions. No less interesting are heart-shaped baskets filled with small sweets. Cardboard for them is better to take double-sided, and the side inner walls of the hearts must be fixed with a ribbon, hang the baskets on the base and fill with dragees or nuts in chocolate. If you tinker a little, you can make a wonderful closed heart box with sweets. And it is better to use silver or golden paper in its manufacture. You can also cover plain cardboard with a shiny spray, and then decorate the box with a pale blue ribbon. For every lover, such painstaking efforts would be proof of great and sincere love.

Valentine cards, paintings, caskets - all this is very appropriate on Valentine's Day. The main thing is to keep those feelings that inspired you to make a touching souvenir in the shape of your own heart.

Super simple valentines

Let's first look at the most simple ways. A huge valentine heart can be made from small hearts, each of which is glued to a cardboard base.

Small blank hearts themselves can become full-fledged valentines if they are cut out of beautiful paper and decorated with buttons.

There is a special place on the Valentine for the name of the addressee or a romantic message.

A complete picture of paper hearts is the height of simplicity and genius!

After watching the video of the master class, you will learn how to make a heart box with your own hands:

Valentine card with a pattern

The beauty of this way of creating a paper heart with your own hands is that it is not at all necessary to be a talented artist, even a child can make such a Valentine.

On a heart of white or any other, but better than a light color, draw simple curls, hearts, flowers and other delights with an ordinary ballpoint pen.

Then, using the usual watercolor paints, paint only a few fragments:

As a result, you will get a one-of-a-kind Valentine!

Such valentines can be given not only to a loved one, but also to friends (because we love them too))

By the way, do you know why foreigners write XO letters on Valentine cards?
In fact, everything is very simple: X conditionally means “kiss”, and O means “hug”)

Valentine's card using a stamp

The method using a heart-shaped stamp is also quite simple and popular when making paper valentines. To do this, you only need to buy one or more stamps. They come in different prints and different sizes:

If you can’t buy it, don’t despair - make it yourself from an ordinary wine cork. Draw a heart and carefully cut it out with a utility knife.

Then apply gouache to the sponge and try to make an impression on a piece of paper.

And now let's see how to make a valentine with your own hands using a stamp.

On a blank for a postcard (you can use a finished one, you can fold a sheet of cardboard in half) using a small piece of masking tape, carefully attach the blank with a heart inside. Then, using a stamp, we fill the entire surface inside the blank with hearts, while the color of the hearts can be different shades of red.

After the paint has dried, remove the paper blank and the valentine is ready!

Valentine card with hearts

Lovers of beautiful scrapbooking paper will definitely love the idea of creating a romantic three-dimensional postcard with hearts.

The technique for creating a valentine card is very simple. Using a paper puncher, cut out hearts.

The number of hearts should be 2 times more than what we see on the card, because each heart will be two-layered.

In this version of the valentine, all the bottom hearts are made from the same type of paper, and the top ones are made from different ones.

Take a ready-made card base or make your own, and then mark the location of the bottom layer of hearts and stick them on thin double-sided tape. Just sew the top hearts to the bottom ones on a sewing machine - it's not difficult, the main thing is to be careful.

By the same principle, you can make small valentine cards:

And voluminous valentines in the shape of a heart:

If you don't have a sewing machine, sew on the hearts by hand. To do this, first lay the paper on a soft surface, such as a towel or ironing board, and then pierce it with a needle, using a thimble to push the needle through (watch your fingers!)

Ideas for decorating the house by February 14

And finally, get inspired by ideas for decorating your home for Valentine's Day. They also won't take much of your time, but they will definitely create a romantic atmosphere!

romantic wreaths

The wreath of paper hearts is based on a circle made of thick cardboard or a plywood blank. You can glue on top exactly the same circle from decorative paper and then just stick a large number of hearts on it!

It's even easier to make a wreath out of strips of double-sided scrapbooking paper. Bend them in half first, and then glue them on top, giving the shape of a heart. By gluing such blanks to each other, you will assemble an original wreath from them.

The more hearts, the larger the circle of the wreath.

Garland of hearts

In addition to the wreath, you can also make garlands with hearts. A figured hole punch with a heart and a regular hole punch for piercing round holes will come to the rescue.

The garland can also be made from hearts folded from strips of paper (based on the “heart” element, borrowed from quilling)

Of course, we will definitely show you more complex and interesting options for creating valentines with your own hands, but if for some reason you need to make a valentine very quickly, you can always use one of the ideas listed here!

It is no coincidence that Valentine's Day has taken root in Russia. After all, how can one not celebrate such a wonderful holiday of love? This is another reason to remember everyone you love and give them a valentine - a symbol of heart and love. Valentine's Day is also sometimes called another phrase - Valentine's Day. But the general meaning of this does not change. This is the day of love and declarations of love, celebrated on February 14th. And Valentine is an important attribute of the holiday. Giving a Valentine means the same thing as giving a ray of your love to this person. And this article will describe different ways creating Valentine cards from paper, which you can also try out, because a hand-made Valentine is valued much more than a purchased one.

How to make a valentine out of paper - 1 way

The easiest thing is to create an opening flat valentine out of colored paper. Even a first grader can handle this simple task. It is only necessary, according to the scheme below, to fold a sheet of colored paper and cut out a heart with scissors, leaving the fold lines intact.

How to make a voluminous valentine - 2 way

This method is a little more complicated than the first one. For him, we will need 2-3 small paper hearts and one larger heart made of cardboard. Bend all the hearts in half along the axis of symmetry. We glue small hearts with “ears” to each other. As a result, you get a kind of craft, similar to a garland. We glue the loose "ears" to the big heart so that it has the ability to open and close.

Such postcards can be decorated in any way that comes to mind - stickers, applique, a collage of photographs, drawings, poems, beautiful inscriptions and more.

How to make a quilling valentine - 3 way

Using the quilling technique, it turns out to create very colorful postcards. Who does not know, quilling is various crafts created from narrow and long strips of paper twisted into spirals. Make a lot of such spirals in advance. To do this, cut colored paper into ribbons and wind each ribbon onto a toothpick or other stick. Here we also need PVA glue.

Approximately we make about 23-24 spirals. We lay out the workpiece from 8 spirals, gluing them firmly and giving the glue time to securely fix them. Then there are two ways - either we insert a collage or photographs into the middle of the heart, or we fill it with spirals. On the inside you will need about 9 spirals. We attach "ears" to the heart - add three spirals on each side.

And in the end, it turns out such a beautiful heart.

The wonderful thing about the quilling technique is that it is easy to get a voluminous and at the same time beautiful heart, even if you are completely new to this activity. For example, this is how a valentine looks like, the spirals of which are glued to the substrate, even though the spirals are not completely twisted.

The product, located on the substrate, is much easier to give the desired shape. If you have no experience in creating crafts using the quilling technique, then make a Valentine card using substrates.

With a little practice in this technique, it will be possible to implement crafts and more abruptly, for example, to make the following beautiful valentines, shown in the picture below:

To do this, you only need to carefully fold and bend the colored spirals in a certain way.

How to make a valentine with your own hands - 4 way:

3. Take scissors and carefully cut out the heart. For convenience, you can fix the fold with a clip or paper clip.

5. Glue the cut-out paper rectangle inside the postcard so that there is a plain part of the paper on the inside of the postcard, and a patterned part in place of the cut-out heart.

6. Take a piece of lace or braid and decorate the postcard with it using double-sided tape.

Our original Valentine card is ready!

How to make voluminous paper hearts - 5 way to create a valentine

For these purposes, we need: bright paper, painted on both sides in different colors, as well as scissors. You can use scrapbooking paper or paper for children's crafts. You can also take plain paper, but only in this case the valentines will turn out to be plain.

1. Fold a square sheet of paper in half, and then in half again. With these actions, we outline the lines of the middle of the sheet. After these steps, we unfold the sheet back.

2. We bend the left edge of the sheet to the middle inward. Then we also bend to the middle, but only outward, the right edge of the sheet. See how it turns out in the picture.

3. We need to draw new lines. To do this, we bend and unbend a part of a sheet of paper to the middle from above and below. We only need to mark the places for the next steps of creating a valentine, so it is not necessary to iron the fold lines.

5. We make small cuts with scissors in the middle from the bottom and top of the sheet to the marked lines.

6. We bend the corners from below and from above, as shown in the image. You should have 4 sharp tops.

7. We bend the sharp peaks of 4 corners.

8. Fold the sheet in half.

9. We bend the lower corners inward. We smooth everything. And as a result - we get a heart.

These volumetric valentine hearts will be an original and wonderful gift for February 14 (Valentine's Day), and, if desired, they can decorate the room where a romantic dinner will be held.

How to make fluffy paper hearts - 6 way

- cardboard (needed for the base);

- a wooden stick with a sharp end or a toothpick;

- PVA glue;

2. We cut napkins or corrugated paper into squares, having a size of about 2 * 2 cm.

3. Lightly wrap the end of a toothpick or pointed stick with a piece of red paper and stick the middle of the square into our base.

4. Continue like this (as shown in paragraph 3) from the edge to the center, row by row, stick the middle of the square into our base until the heart is voluminous. To make it very beautiful, you need to prevent gaps and glue pieces of paper as tightly as possible to each other.

When you fill the entire surface, you can say that the fluffy valentine is ready. On the reverse side, you can write poems, congratulations or a declaration of love.

For larger structures, you can use a foam base, and instead of a toothpick, use an old pen rod or a pointed wooden stick.

We decorate the house with valentines

Wreath of lovers from valentines on the door

We cut out a circle from white paper so that it has a diameter of 30-40 cm. We glue this circle with hearts cut out in advance. Pick the tone you want. You can make the wreath more passionate by using burgundy and red hearts, or you can make it more delicate by choosing light pinks and whites. You can create a wreath of valentines in the Gothic style or in a trendy combination of black and pink - use black and red hearts for this. If you choose different sizes of hearts, then the wreath will be more textured and voluminous.

You can decorate with this wreath a window, a door or place it on a wall.

A very beautiful decoration. Yes, and it's easy to do. You just need to string the cut out hearts on a thread. You can string hearts either along or across (pay attention to this). If valentines are strung across, then a vertical garland of hearts is formed, with which you can decorate the doorway.

If you string the hearts along, you get a vertical garland - you can hang it on the wall, drag it under the ceiling across the whole room, decorate a window, a bed with it.

It is even easier to build a garland with clothespins. In this case, it is better to cut out hearts from thicker paper so that they do not change their shape due to the action of the clothespin. Well, you can attach your favorite photos, romantic congratulations and more to this garland.
