If you don’t have tomatoes on hand, you can replace them with tomato paste. And you also need a little bell pepper. We will need vegetables for gravy and a richer taste. In winter, when the price of fresh vegetables in stores goes beyond all reasonable limits, and the vitamin content is rapidly melting due to long-term storage, it’s time to use deep-frozen products. They are sold in our stores all year round, and their prices are quite affordable. Here is one of the dishes, tasty and healthy: rice cooked in a slow cooker with vegetables and meatballs.

This dish is easiest to prepare if you take a mixture of frozen vegetables to which rice has already been added. For example, Hawaiian mixture. But you can take any other one, and add rice yourself, and make the ratio to your taste: some will like it if there are more vegetables, while others will like it if there is more rice.

Meatballs with rice and frozen vegetables turn out very tasty in a slow cooker, and they are easy and simple to prepare. Try it and see for yourself!

Recipe for rice with vegetables and meatballs in a slow cooker

What we need for cooking:

  1. Minced meat - 500-600 grams
  2. One onion
  3. Hawaiian mixture - 400 grams
  4. Sunflower oil - 2 tablespoons
  5. Salt to taste

Peel the onion and cut into half rings. Pour some sunflower oil into a saucepan and add chopped onions.

Turn on the baking mode and fry the onion until transparent for 10 minutes.

We take minced meat and form meatballs from the minced meat with our hands. If it doesn't stick well, you can wet your hands.

I took ground beef. You can use any minced meat: chicken, turkey, or a mixture of beef and pork.

Pour the Hawaiian mixture onto the onion, add the meatballs, drowning them in the vegetables.

Add salt and a little hot water until the meatballs are barely covered. You don’t need to add a lot of water, otherwise the dish will take a long time to cook and the vegetables and rice will boil.

We turn on the PLOV mode and after 30 minutes the multicooker can be turned off.

The aromatic rice with frozen vegetables and meatballs in the slow cooker is ready, put it on plates and serve. You can decorate with greenery.

It turned out very quickly, tasty and satisfying. This dish can feed the whole family. Bon appetit!

If you want to surprise your family and cook “pilaf” in an unusual way, present them with two-color “rice” with meatballs in a slow cooker. This is not a very familiar dish - a version of fried vermicelli with rice, and even with a meat additive, will be not only tasty, but also original. You can use any meat for meatballs - pork, beef, chicken (the dish will be prepared faster with chicken meat).

Ingredients:
  • rice - 1.5 multi cups
  • orzo pasta - 1 multi cup
  • pork - 400 g
  • carrots - 1/2 pcs (if they are small, take a whole one)
  • vegetable oil - 3 tbsp.
  • onions - 1 pc.
  • yolk - 1 piece
  • garlic - 2 cloves
  • paprika - 1 tsp.
  • salt and pepper - to taste
  • water - 4 multi glasses
  • number of servings - 7-8 pcs

How to cook meatballs with rice in a slow cooker:

The first step is to prepare the meatballs. Grind the pork pulp through a meat grinder. Peel the onion and garlic, turn it through a fine mesh meat grinder, and add it to the minced meat. Add the egg yolk, salt, pepper and stir. It is better not to add egg white; without it, meat products are much softer and tastier.

Roll the minced meat into small meatballs the size of a walnut. It is more convenient to do this with wet palms, so the minced meat will not stick to the skin.

Turn on the multicooker using the “frying/stewing” mode. Pour vegetable oil into the bowl and add meatballs. Turning occasionally, fry them on all sides until crust appears. Our task at this stage is not to fry the meatballs until cooked, but to “seal” them so that they do not fall apart later. Remove the fried meatballs from the bowl.

Place peeled and chopped carrots into a bowl. Fry it as usual until golden brown, this will take about 10 minutes. Then place the carrots in a separate bowl.

After frying the carrots, there is vegetable oil left in the bowl. There is no need to pour it out; we will fry the pasta on it. So, pour the orzo pasta into the multicooker bowl and, stirring constantly with a spatula, fry until brown. It will take us 10-12 minutes. If you don't have such a paste, you can skip this step.

Place the fried carrots on the rice, and then the meatballs. Fill it with water (it’s better to take boiling water right away), close the lid of the multicooker and turn on the “cereals” mode. Pilaf with meatballs in a slow cooker will take about 45 minutes to cook (this depends on what type of rice you used). Open the lid and taste the rice - if it is ready, then the dish is ready.

Serve hot, garnished with herbs. Bon appetit!!!

We thank Ivanna Yakushova for the multicooker recipe!

How to cook soup with meatballs and rice in a slow cooker:

Finely chop the onion and grate the carrots. Sauté vegetables in vegetable oil in a multicooker in the “Fry” mode until soft, stirring occasionally.

Then add sweet bell pepper, cut into small strips. Fry everything together for about 2-3 minutes.

Add rice, which must be washed in several waters until the water becomes clear.

We also add potatoes cut into small cubes here.

Pour water, the amount of which depends on the desired thickness of the first dish. Add laurel leaves, salt and favorite spices to taste. We continue cooking on the “Soup” mode until the beep sounds. Lately I have been using the “Multi-cook” function (vol. 110*C)

Meanwhile, you need to form small balls from the minced meat. First add chopped onion, garlic, salt and spices to the minced meat). I didn't add the egg.

Place the meatballs in the soup 10-15 minutes before it is ready. At this point you can add fresh herbs.

We pour the finished hot and aromatic soup into plates and invite everyone to the table. Bon appetit!!!
