Vladimir Putin holds a meeting of the Council on Interethnic Relations in Yoshkar-Ola. On the agenda are issues of implementation at the regional and municipal levels of the Strategy of the State National Policy of Russia for the period until 2025.

The Presidential Council on Interethnic Relations was created in 2012 in order to improve public policy in the relevant area. The Council includes leaders of all-Russian national and cultural associations, representatives of the scientific and expert community, heads of federal legislative and executive authorities.

Verbatim report of the Council meeting

V. Putin: Good afternoon, dear colleagues!

Holding the Council on Interethnic Relations in the regions was our good, good tradition. This time we gathered in the capital of Mari El, Yoshkar-Ola. And first of all, I want to thank the residents of the republic for their hospitality, for the cordiality with which they greet us here.

News from the Council on Interethnic Relations

Our agenda includes an analysis of the implementation of the State National Policy Strategy at the regional and municipal level. This is a fundamentally important and key document for our multinational country.

You know that his project was widely discussed, over 3 thousand comments and suggestions were taken into account, and the main priorities were identified - preserving the ethnocultural diversity of the peoples of Russia, strengthening the civil identity and spiritual community of our nation.

These are the main areas of activity for all levels of government. But in regions and municipalities, work on them is more concentrated, intense, and filled with specific content. This is natural: the closer you are to people, the more specific everything becomes.

Each territory has its own characteristics of interethnic relations, and, of course, they need to be taken into account, while ensuring uniform approaches to solving the problems of the national policy of the state as a whole.

To be continued.
