Prayer before starting anything

Every person wants to achieve something in their life. And especially in our age, when material well-being is valued. But not everyone succeeds. Just don’t get upset and think that you are crooked and can’t create anything yourself. You just need a little luck, luck and God's grace. But this can be fixed. Before starting any business, you can turn to the Almighty with the words:

“Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls.

Bless, Lord, and help me, a sinner, to complete the work I have begun, for Your glory.

Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of Your Father without beginning, You declared with Your most pure lips that without Me you cannot do anything. My Lord, Lord, with faith in my soul and heart spoken by You, I fall down in Your goodness: help me, a sinner, to complete this work, which I have begun, in You, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, through the prayers of the Mother of God and all Your saints . Amen."

In addition, you can ask for help in business. Saint Nicholas never leaves without support those suffering who need it so much.

“Pleasant Nicholas, Protector and Savior. Grant me peace in vain affairs and do not be angry at a sinful request. Endow me with diligent hard work and protect me from hefty failures. Thy will be done. Amen."

If you are facing something dangerous to your health or even your life, then pray. This way, not only will your luck not leave you, but you will be alive and healthy. Even during her lifetime, Mother Matrona listened to everyone who turned to her, even with the smallest problems, and helped everyone without exception.

“Blessed Elder, Matrona of Moscow. Before starting a difficult task, I turn to you with a righteous prayer. Protect me from risks, breakdowns, bruises and breaks. Save my body from mutilation and injury, and my soul from every temptation. Thy will be done. Amen."

Prayer for good luck in business

When you open your own enterprise, start your own business, or implement any important plans, you don’t want to fail. If you are not confident in your abilities, pray to the Guardian Angel for good luck in business.

“I call on my guardian angel to touch my destiny, to direct my path towards prosperity and good luck. When my guardian angel hears me, by a blessed miracle my life will take on a new meaning, and I will find success in today’s business, and in future affairs there will be no obstacles for me, for the hand of my guardian angel guides me. Amen."

It is not for nothing that everyone has their own Angel, who not only protects, but also helps in any difficult situations. Therefore, this petition will be very effective.

Prayer for help in business

There are moments when you realize that something is going wrong, and in an instant you can lose everything that you built with such difficulty. The business is collapsing, your luck has run out, your brainchild no longer brings the same profit, then you need to not sit idly by, but act.

Ask for help from the Holy Martyrs. You can use the prayer services that we have already indicated above. But, if you want to attract not only fortune, but also money back, then for good luck in business and luck, read the following prayer:

“The Lord is my shepherd. I will lack for nothing: He makes me lie down in green pastures and leads me beside still waters, He strengthens my soul, He guides me in the paths of righteousness. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. You have prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemies, you have anointed my head with oil, my cup is overflowing. Thus, may Thy goodness and mercy accompany me all the days of my life, and I will abide in the house of the Lord many days. Amen."

In addition, you can read a prayer for luck in work.

“Holy Martyr Tryphon, our quick helper. Be my helper and protector from evil demons and leader to the Kingdom of Heaven. Pray to the Almighty, may he give me joy from work, may he always be next to me and fulfill my plans.”

Now you know which prayers to use to attract good luck and luck in any endeavor or when something goes wrong in your affairs. Remember, you can never lose hope. Believe in the powers of higher powers, do not be afraid to ask for Holy help and then everything will be fine. After all, you can pray, asking not only for health, but also for everything you need.

May God bless you!

Before starting any business, a person is always overcome by doubts and worries. Even after calculating and analyzing possible risks and consequences, you can never say with one hundred percent certainty that everything will be fine. In order not to worry again, a prayer is read before starting any task.

The meaning of prayer

All people hope that any of their undertakings will always lead to a successful outcome and end happily. However, the business started does not always meet a person’s expectations. There are many factors that can lead to collapse. And the worst thing is that it is impossible to predict all of them and assess the degree of risk. We can only hope that everything will be successful.

To calm down and tune in to the right mood, a special prayer is read. Such a petition will help a believer to receive the help and protection of the saints.

Reading sacred texts allows you to focus on business, calm unreasonable fears, pacify your spirit and clear your mind. This is very important, because it is because of rash actions and imaginary fears that people choose the wrong path.

Often the cause of failure is the envy and hatred of the people around us. A prayer read in front of holy images drives away negativity from a person. The saints protect the believer from the sins of our world, allowing him to focus on building his own business and achieving success.

A prayer read helps a person in the following ways:

  • makes it possible to see the most correct decision among various choices;
  • gives protection to the saints in the person of the Guardian Angel;
  • gives determination and inspires;
  • protects against deception, fraud and theft, as well as ill-wishers and enemies;
  • helps in any endeavor.

A prayer before starting any business is said:

  • Lord God;
  • Matrona of Moscow;
  • Nicholas the Wonderworker;
  • Jesus Christ.

The strongest and most effective petition is considered to be one addressed to the Lord God. When reading it, you need to do the following:

  • make an appeal to God and ask him to cleanse yourself of sins and evil spirits;
  • then a request is made for support in all endeavors;
  • then you need to turn to Jesus and ask for his support.

Before starting any new work, you can simply say with faith in your heart, “Lord, help.”

Many believers, before opening a new business, often turn to Matrona of Moscow with a prayer request. During her lifetime, the saint listened to everyone who turned to her even with the most insignificant request. She should read a prayer service if the new job poses a danger to life and health.

You can also read a prayer to Nicholas the Wonderworker. During his lifetime, he was famous for helping everyone in need. And there are legends about the miracles he created.

To receive support in any endeavor, you can turn to the Holy Spirit for help. A special prayer can be read in any prayer book. You can also say the request in your own words. If a person believes passionately, then his request will definitely be heard.

You can also get help in starting your own business from your Guardian Angel. He will be an excellent assistant in any endeavor and will provide a person with the necessary protection.

When reading a prayer for the saints to hear, you need to use the name given at baptism.

Prayers before starting any business. Prayers for all occasions

Believers believe that it is impossible to do something completely independently. That is, a person always acts according to the will of the Lord. His efforts are directed from above. Therefore, the sages recommend reading prayers before starting any business. This is a way to both tune in to work and ask the Lord for advice. How to do this? If you don't know, then let's figure it out.

Goal setting

You know, nowadays everyone uses newfangled words and ideas. And we will try. Before starting any task, prayer must have a clear goal.

So that a person does not just pronounce words “like everyone else,” but understands who he is addressing and why. Agree, meaningful actions are always more useful than simple parroting. Moreover, prayers before starting any business are different. By the way, there are a lot of texts, both in printed sources and on the Internet. Sometimes you can’t even figure out what exactly to say. But this is a joke. In fact, words do not have that much influence on the matter we are talking about. Strong prayers are pronounced with the soul, and do not slip off the tongue. So it turns out that words must be born in the heart, and not read from paper. And for them to be born, you need to have faith. Do you understand now what the goal is? This is a way to strengthen the connection with the Lord, to make sure that He is nearby, will help if necessary or give advice. That's what the Saints said. And we have no reason to deny this purpose of prayer before starting any business. Of course, if there is faith in the soul. And without it, prayer is quickly forgotten.

What should I say?

It is clear that believers turn to the Lord. They ask him for his blessing in the business they are about to start. For example, you can say this: “Heavenly King, true comforter of souls! You are everywhere and see everything. Come and dwell in the souls of Your servants. Cleanse us from all filth and save us, Lord! I am starting a business for Your glory. Bless me for my work.

Help the sinner finish what he started successfully. God! You said that people cannot do anything without you. I believe in You with all my heart. I hope, Lord, for help in my work, which is accomplished for Your glory. Amen!" There are other texts as well. They can be found in the prayer book. Just keep in mind that the point is not at all in the correct repetition of words. They must evoke a response in the soul. After all, a piece of God lives in every heart. From there he speaks to us through His mouth.

Short prayer

Not every person will begin to memorize texts written in a language that is incomprehensible today. What to do? Give up communication with the Lord? Of course not. You remember that the soul speaks strong prayers, but the lips only echo it. For example, no one will forget such words: “Lord, everything is Your will!” It seems simple. However, it is with this prayer that it is recommended to begin any business. And not a lot of words, but how valuable they are. Think for yourself. First, this phrase affirms the truth of faith. That is, it directly says that you trust in the Almighty. Secondly, it shows the humility of a person. He makes any decision without grumbling, complaining, or criticizing. Many people forget about this aspect of faith. And he is important. Man, as they say, proposes, but God disposes. This saying was born from the sincerity of the attitude towards the great power of the Almighty. It is included in the short prayer below. By the way, critics make this argument. They say that believers shift all responsibility onto the Lord. This is not true.

Morning prayers

If a person begins every business with the name of the Lord, then the day can also be sanctified. Morning prayers are usually said in front of the icons that are in the house. As soon as you get up, say one or two. This won't take much time. However, this tradition has a very good effect on the human condition. Have you noticed that believers differ from other people in their calmness and confidence? This is completely natural. After all, next to them there is always someone who can do absolutely everything! It may be difficult to prove physically. But people who sincerely believe in the Lord do not need this. They feel the presence and support of the Almighty in their souls. Starting his day with prayer, a person orients his thoughts in an optimistic way. Dissatisfaction or anger goes away. Confidence reigns in the soul.

Texts of morning prayers

Let us say right away that the rule about words from the soul must be observed in this case as well. It's no good just muttering memorized words. After all, this is a kind of deception. If you decide to pray, then set aside a few minutes for full communication with the Lord.

And it is recommended to say this: “I worship You, my Creator and God, glorified in the Holy Trinity, entrusting my soul. I pray for blessing and mercy. Deliver me from all worldly and devilish evil, from bodily and witchcraft. Let me live this day without sin in peace for Your glory, Lord! Amen!" These words do not need to be repeated exactly. Just leave the meaning. Here is another short morning prayer: “Glory to Thee, Almighty! By divine will and humane intentions he allowed me to wake up from sleep and begin my day. At Your threshold I humbly pray: bless me for my work, protect me from evil and illness. Amen!"

How to understand prayer?

People who came to faith at a reasonable age have many questions about the texts. It seems to them that Orthodox prayers are composed, if not offensive, then derogatory. It is necessary to understand that they were all written a very long time ago. Life was different then. They were made so that any believer would understand the greatness of the Lord. At the time, they could not explain this “from a scientific point of view.” Therefore, they demanded humility in a different way. In fact, that's what it's all about. The believer must accept his “smallness” relative to the Lord. And there is nothing offensive in this. Orthodox prayers or other religions are aimed at the well-being of a person. They are designed to give him confidence that there is always a “good force” nearby that can protect him from any evil. It is only important not to be the author of it.

Prayers for all occasions

Interestingly, many people try to learn as many texts as possible. In some circles this is considered almost an achievement. This is probably very good for memory training. But is it worth forcing yourself if there are a lot of other things to do? After all, prayer books were invented and published for believers. If you start reading texts from a book rather than by heart, what will change? But we've gone a little off topic. Let's discuss what prayers are for all occasions. In fact, there are several texts that are suitable for any situation. This is, for example, “Our Father”. You can ask the clergy yourself. They will answer the same. These words will be appropriate in any situation. They are known to all Orthodox Christians; we will not cite them. You can also read the Lord's Prayer. Yes, just say: “Oh Jesus, forgive and help!” This will already be enough to feel His presence in your life.

You and I have become familiar with the words that are said in the morning, therefore, it is necessary to remember the evening prayers. With them, believers thank you for the past day and ask for support and blessings for the next. This is how you can say: “Lord, Master! Give us, who are inclined to sleep, peace. So that the soul and body are protected from voluptuous sin. Help extinguish the passions of the devil for the rebellion of the flesh. Grant, Lord, vigor of mind, chastity of thoughts, easy sleep, without satanic tossing and fears. We glorify Your name, Lord! Amen!" There is a small nuance with this text. Spouses read it before bed, and not before getting ready for bed. There are other prayers as well. Suitable for different occasions. For example, for conception or something else. It is the spouses who need to choose for themselves what they want to create.

Before the meal

In monasteries it is customary to thank the Lord for any gift. Many believers follow this tradition. That is, they read prayers before and after meals. Some believe that food blessed with holy words becomes healthier. And the words are: “Lord our God, Jesus Christ! Bless our food and drink. Through the prayers of Thy Holy Mother, Angels and Archangels. Amen!" By the way, before meals they also read “Our Father”. This is truly an amazing prayer that speaks to a person’s entire life. Read the text for yourself and think! Here’s another prayer before eating: “Lord! I trust in You! You give us food with Your generosity. Amen!" Yes, and at the end of the meal, people thank the Lord for the food. You can do this with your own owls. At least like this: “Lord, thank you for the food! Amen!"

Prayers for other purposes

There are many texts that the Holy Fathers wrote. For example, the prayer before starting work, recommended by the Optina elders, became widespread. Many people believe that she is very strong. Here is one of the text options. "God! Let me meet any challenge of today with peace of mind. Let me surrender to Your will with complete humility. Support me, Lord, guide me in fulfilling Your lessons. So that I meet any news that comes to me during the day with peace of mind, confident that Your will is manifested in everything. Merciful Lord, show mercy to me, a sinner. Let me see Your guidance in the events and circumstances of this day. Amen!"

Of course, many people want to know what words they use to ask the Lord for a miracle. It must be said that Orthodox prayers for good luck are most suitable here. Only they do not ask for a miracle, but for the instructions of the wise and advice. Judge for yourself, here is the text: “Lord! Teach me to trust You boundlessly and humbly. So that my soul may open to Your signs that You graciously send. Oh my God! Help us to understand and accept Your gifts! Amen!" So briefly, having realized with your soul the truth of faith, you can create a real small miracle together with the Lord. Try it! But seriously, it is enough for an Orthodox person to know “Our Father” by heart. With these eternal words you can start your day and boldly get down to business. And those who do not believe in miracles are invited to try it themselves! Good luck!

But the flow of enthusiastic exclamations and perplexed questions about how it is possible to grow vegetables and exotic fruits under conditions of “extremely risky farming” and even obtain surprisingly high yields does not dry up. What's the secret? Do the Valaam monks know something hidden from the rest of the world? What gives them the power to transform nature and create man-made paradise on bare rocks?

Growing potatoes, cheese making, trout breeding are vitally important, but not the main thing for the monks. Unlike a strong collective farm or a farm estate, the agricultural obediences of the inhabitants have other ideological, in modern language, grounds: nothing in the monastery is accomplished without trust in the will of God and prayer, and everything is aimed at achieving peace in the soul and humility.

"Thy will be done as it is in heaven and on earth"

A believer lives with the thought that each of us, like each of the five small birds sold for two assars, is not forgotten by God, and firmly remembers the Gospel lines: “So do not be afraid: you are worth more than many small birds” (Lk. 12:7). A true Christian, and even more so a monk, firmly knows and is confident that his earthly life completely belongs to the Creator: “ Not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for he has worked with God” (1 Samuel 14:45). The New Testament says: “Are not two little birds sold for an assar? And not one of them will fall to the ground without the will of your Father; Even the hairs on your head are all numbered; do not be afraid: you are better than many small birds.”(Matt. 10:29-31). Without His will, not even a hair will be lost from our heads (cf. Luke 21:18)

There is no need to lose seven eighths in order to save one eighth

And even a person far from the Church has a thousand proofs that sometimes everything does not go as it was calculated and determined - sooner or later something happens that clearly proves: the confidence that all plans are feasible under control of the situation - this is an illusion, self-deception. That is why, before doing anything, the believer will ask in prayer for God’s blessing and help. This trust not in oneself, but in the Heavenly Father, gives selfless joy in the event of a victory, even the smallest, and gives strength to humbly accept defeat, even a very large one. And this applies to any business, be it painting an icon or growing grapes on stones or pineapple in a greenhouse.

But you cannot be saved by prayer alone: it must be combined with the fulfillment of God’s will - everything that is entrusted to everyone in our daily life. “By the sweat of your face you will eat bread” (Gen. 3:19) - and some teach children, some build houses, sew shoes, drive trains. The Valam inhabitants always had to work hard to earn their daily bread, because nothing in the natural and climatic conditions of the archipelago gave hope for a carefree life. And life on the island was never easy, even in the most prosperous years. And there are countless tragic events in the history of the monastery. And each time the brethren raised the monastery from ruins, carefully restoring and preserving the old and creating a new one. Without peace in your soul you cannot walk this difficult path: “The sacrifice to God is a broken spirit, a contrite and humble heart, God will not despise”(Ps. 50:19).

Like hundreds and dozens of years ago, behind every temple built, monastery equipped, or tomato grown in a greenhouse there are daily obediences. It is sometimes difficult for a layman to believe that a person who has received a good university education, but now, in a monastery, is doing the hay cutting or milking on the farm with joy and a light heart. "twists the cows' tails". And the most amazing thing is that the labors of these city residents in the past bring a variety of tangible results.

We repeat, every business that a believer begins must have God’s blessing. But it comes not to the stiff-necked and self-willed, but to the humble and meek. In the “Teachings” of the Venerable Abba Dorotheus we read: “Whenever you come across a task, even if it is extremely necessary and requires diligence, I don’t want you to do it with controversy or embarrassment, but be sure that every task you do, whether it’s big or small, - there is an eighth part of what is sought, and to preserve one’s dispensation, even if it happens as a result of this that one does not fulfill the work, is seven eighths. So, if you are doing some work and want to completely and completely fulfill it, then try to fulfill the task itself, which, as I said, is the eighth part of what is sought, and at the same time preserve your structure intact, which is seven-eighths. If, in order to fulfill the work of your ministry, the need arises to get carried away and harm yourself or another by arguing with him, then there is no need to lose seven-eighths in order to save one-eighth.”

And then, with a pure heart, we fall in prayer to the Lord, so that He will grant us not to deviate in anything from His holy will and give us the strength to overcome difficulties. And the one who has zeal to fulfill the will of God in everything, and prayer is more bold before God.

After all, prayers are not a spell, but a request for help

So, every business begins with an appeal to the Lord - with prayer. In the Orthodox Church it is customary to pray to the Holy Spirit. You can also pray briefly: “Lord bless!” But it’s better not to be lazy and spend a little time calling on God’s help. It is good to memorize these prayers and repeat to yourself when necessary.

Having said a prayer before starting a new business, you should do your work honestly and with full dedication. After all, prayers are not a spell, but a request for help, and the saints will not do anything for us. Prayer gives strength, but does not replace the need to do what is required in the best way. Even the apostles earned a living, endured poverty, heat and cold.

After the end of a working day or a completed task, one should not forget about gratitude for the help. After all, in everyday life, the response word “thank you” is the norm for us. Thanksgiving will also help you avoid the sin of pride. Otherwise, a person will decide to attribute success only to his own strengths, and then disaster is not far away.

It is necessary to thank for the good deed, even if everything did not turn out exactly as desired, because any charitable deed is simply doomed to success. And this is precisely what the Valaam gardens testify to, blooming and bearing fruit despite the climate, poor soil and abandonment for decades.

The teacher and mentor of monks, Abba Dorotheos writes: “... whatever it is, I always do according to my strength and leave everything to God.” And further: “ ... humility consists in attributing one’s deeds to God.” So isn’t this the secret of the Valaam paradise? Isn’t this the secret of a happy life in the world - in perfect humility, trust in the will of God and in a peaceful, joyful heart?

Prayers before starting any task, read at the beginning of each obedience

Through the prayers of the Saints, our fathers, Lord Jesus Christ, our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

Heavenly King, Comforter, Soul of truth, Who is everywhere and fulfills everything, Treasure of good things and Giver of life, come and dwell in us, and cleanse us from all filth, and save, O Good One, our souls. (From the day of Holy Easter to the Day of the Holy Trinity (50 days), the prayer “To the Heavenly King, the Comforter” is not read; from Easter to the Ascension, instead of this prayer, the troparion of Easter “Christ is Risen...” is read).

Trisagion...

Holy Trinity...

Our Father...

Kontakion: Quick to intercede and strong to help, present yourself to the grace of Thy power now, and bless and strengthen, and accomplish the good work of Thy servants: whatever you want, as the Almighty God is able to do.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of Your Beginning Father, You declared with Your most pure lips: that without Me you cannot do anything. My Lord, Lord, with faith in my soul and heart spoken by You, I fall down in Your goodness: help me, a sinner, to accomplish this work, which I have begun, in You, in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Thanksgiving after the end of any task.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. Glory to Thee, our God, Glory to Thee.

Kontakion: As a servant of indecency, having been honored with Your blessings and gifts, Master, we earnestly flow to You, giving thanks according to our strength, and glorifying You as the Benefactor and Creator, we cry out: Glory to You, All-Bountiful God.

Glory even now: Theotokos

Theotokos, Christian Helper, Your servants, having acquired Your intercession, cry out to You in gratitude: Rejoice, Most Pure Virgin Mother of God, and always deliver us from all our troubles with Your prayers, One who will soon intercede.

Prayer: You are the fulfillment of all good things, my Christ, fill my soul with joy and gladness and save me, for I am the only one who is most merciful, Lord, glory to you.

It is worthy to eat as you truly bless Theotokos, Ever-Blessed and Most Immaculate and Mother of our God. We magnify You, the most honorable Cherub and the most glorious without comparison Seraphim, who gave birth to God the Word without corruption.

Glory…. and now...

Lord, have mercy (3 times).

Vacation: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, prayers for the sake of Your Most Pure Mother, our reverend and God-bearing fathers and all the saints, have mercy on us. Amen.

Before starting the working day, you can pray to the saints:

Theotokos - intercessor of all humanity;

Guardian Angel - he is called upon to protect our body from illnesses, and our soul from temptations, but we should not forget that unkind thoughts and deeds drive Angels away;

to the saint whose name was taken at baptism;

Saint Nicholas, who himself was a diligent worker and always helped all his neighbors, despite the difficulties;

Martyr Tryphon, who helps him perform his duties well, and other beloved saints.
