Hello! I received another order and made several new souvenir plates using the reverse decoupage technique. Today I am sharing a master class with you.

I worked hard for work : glass plates, cotton pads and glass cleaner, acrylic paints: blue, black, cyan and white, pictures printed on a printer and napkins, adhesive paper construction tape, PVA glue, soft brush, white napkin, hot silicone glue, fastening -a loop or stand for a plate, pieces of cellophane (for flowers).

I bought plates with a beautiful edge and lighter in weight than those on which reverse decoupage or painting is usually done.

I printed pictures with a view of the city and the sea on a laser printer. I selected napkins with marine-themed motifs.

Everything is ready and you can get to work!

First, I thoroughly washed and dried the plates. I turn the plate over with the wrong side facing me and apply all the decor from its reverse side (). I layer the printout using adhesive construction tape. Having cut a circle from the picture to the size of the bottom of the plate, I glue it in the center with PVA glue (facing away from me). I carefully expel all the bubbles. I sushi.

For this plate, I cut out eight motifs from a napkin and pasted them in the shape of petals. I sushi. Then, between the petals with a piece of cellophane rolled into a rose, I fill the background with three colors of acrylic paint.

On this plate I glued napkin motifs with overlapping shells around the edge. I dried it and applied white paint on top of a napkin. After drying, I completely cover the back of the plate with a white napkin and glue it with PVA glue. I sushi.

To work, you will need a round base, a bowl of water, glue, a brush, scissors and acrylic varnish, as well as a suitable image - a postcard or a printed drawing.

Apply 5-7 layers of acrylic varnish to the image, allowing each previous layer to dry thoroughly. When all the varnish has dried, place the image in a bowl of water for 10-15 minutes, then remove and separate the paper from the varnish layer. We cut out the desired fragment of the design, place it on a plate and fix it on it also with varnish. You can secure the plate to the wall using a rope or a lid with a ring from a tin can, secured with strong adhesive, and also place it on the table using a special stand. The result is a wonderful decoration with a minimum of costs.

Painting a decorative plate.

If you know how to draw or just like to draw, then you should definitely try painting a plate. There are several ways to do this: stencil painting, dot painting, stained glass, artistic painting and others. Each artist will be able to choose a method according to his taste and strength.

For drawing, acrylic paints are used, which are self-drying and require baking, and special markers for glass and ceramics. If you have enough experience in drawing or your soul requires improvisation, you can create a pattern right on the go or use the art painting technique, when a plate becomes a canvas and entire pictures are created on it. It will be easy for a beginning artist to work using stencils or using the dot painting technique.

Dot painting is a technique of drawing and creating contours using dots, which creates a spectacular three-dimensional image. Plates decorated in this way look as if they are embroidered with beads or seed beads. To work, you will need acrylic paints; you can paint with them directly from the tube, or, if this method seems difficult, use a small brush or toothpick. First practice placing dots of different sizes and maintaining the same distance between them.

Before work, degrease the surface. For a beginner, the best option would be to use a transparent glass plate, on the back of which you can glue a pattern template. You can also transfer the drawing onto a plate using tracing paper. We begin work by drawing large general contours, then move on to small details.

We leave the plate to dry thoroughly during the day; you can speed up this process using a hairdryer or by baking the plate in the oven for half an hour at a temperature of about 160 degrees. After complete drying, secure the design with varnish.

When creating a decorative plate, the final result depends only on the master, who can use not only various techniques, but also their combinations. For example, to create a plate like the one in the photo below, we will use the decoupage technique along with dot painting.

So, we prepare the base and degrease it. Next we work using the decoupage technique. We select a suitable image, treat it with varnish and let it dry. Soak it in water, separate the design, cut it out and fix it on the plate, not forgetting to leave a free edge for painting. After the varnish has dried, we paint the edge of the plate, and also add volume to the drawing using the dot painting technique and cover it with a finishing layer of varnish. Do not forget to properly dry all layers of work. The result is a wonderful decorative plate in the Provence style, which will easily decorate a suitable interior or become a very original gift.

Of course, there are many techniques for decorating plates, for example, more complex stained glass painting or marble techniques. However, you should not immediately strive for complex work, as we see that even the simplest techniques give an amazing result in the end if you put in a little effort and add inspiration. Don’t be afraid to try, make mistakes, look for suitable ways, and creating decorative plates will give you many pleasant emotions.

Master class No. 1: painting with black acrylic on a white plate

For this master class you will not need a lot of acrylic paints, just one color is enough. But ceramics painted in this way will not look any less impressive.

Materials:

• cups, ceramic plates, saucers (it is best to use porcelain or earthenware),
• tassel,
• black acrylic paint Pebeo Porcelaine 150 (or similar),
• damp cloth or towel.

Painting technology:

1. At first practice drawing on paper so that you don’t have to make unnecessary adjustments to the dishes later. But if there is a mistake on the dishes, it can be corrected with a damp cloth.
2. Apply the design to the dishes. These could be flowers, stars, polka dots, small lines, or anything else that comes to your mind.
3. Translucent paint, so for a clearer pattern, apply more than one coat.
4. Leave dry for 24 hours.
5. After this time, place place the dishes in a cool oven, set the temperature to 150° C. When the oven has warmed up to the set temperature, leave to bake.
6. When the time is up, turn off the oven and let the dishes cool before removing.
7. The result is beautiful dishes that only you have!

Master class No. 2: painting mugs and cups with acrylic paint

A fairly simple drawing will be used here, which does not require special artistic skills, so all you need is desire, materials and a little time.

Materials:

• white cup (mug) and saucer (ceramic or porcelain),
• marker Pebeo Porcelaine 150,
• several colors of acrylic paints (blue, sapphire, white, rainbow colors),
• one or two brushes,
• palette for mixing paints (you can use a plate),
• several cotton swabs (to correct mistakes),
• alcohol or glass cleaner, a regular kitchen stove.

Painting technology:

1. First you need alcohol or window cleaner Clean ceramics and dishes from fingerprints or grease.
2. We draw raindrops on the cup and saucer (except for the center of the saucer where the cup is placed), that is, their outlines. Draw a rainbow in the center of the saucer.
3. Thus, it turns out that when the cup is on the saucer, the rainbow will not be visible, but when the cup is lifted from the saucer for tea, there will be a pleasant little surprise, rainbow in the literal and figurative sense of the word. Remember that the paint dries in 5-10 seconds.

TIP: If you have never used a marker before, you need to make the paint start to flow out of it. To do this, you need to shake it for about 30 seconds, and then press the tip onto a sheet of paper until the paint begins to flow. Once the paint has gone, you can start painting.

1. Use a medium sized brush to paint the raindrops. Use blue paint. You can paint right away with the paint in the bottle, or you can add a little water so that the color is not so saturated. Do not shake the paint, this may create bubbles which will reduce the quality of the painting.

If you have gone a little beyond the contours and the paint has not yet dried, this can be corrected with a cotton swab or napkin. If the paint has already dried, first moisten a cotton swab with alcohol, and only then correct the mistake. If you made a big mistake when drawing and you want to start over, then rinse the dishes under warm water or wipe with alcohol and let it dry thoroughly before starting to paint again.

1. These paints mix well with each other, so you can paint some of the droplets with blue, then mix with sapphire and paint the rest. You can paint some of them with just paint, or often with paint mixed with water.
2. It is important to wash and dry your brush well when switching to each new paint color.

1. After you finish drawing the raindrops, move on to the rainbow. To do this, use a very thin brush so that the design is neat and does not go beyond the contours.
2. Remember that green can be obtained by mixing yellow and blue, and orange can be obtained by mixing red and yellow.
3. The drawing is already finished, but this dish is not ready for use yet. Leave to dry for 24 hours.
4. After this time, place the dishes in a cool oven, set the temperature to 150° C. When the oven warms up to the set temperature, set the timer for 30 minutes and leave to bake. When the time is up, turn off the oven and let the dishes cool before removing.

There is one trick worth knowing about this method: the stencil must be removed before the paint begins to dry, since it can then be removed with part of the paint.

Materials:

• porcelain, ceramic plates or even paper,

• stationery knife,
• contact paper for stencil,
• brushes,
• oven.

Manufacturing stages:

1. You can draw the stencils yourself or you can take one already ready-made drawings and print them out on contact paper.
2. Place patterned contact paper on a plate.
3. Carefully cut out the design with a utility knife.
4. Using a brush, apply paint to the plate inside the stencil. If you mixed paints of different colors, make sure you get enough paint for all the plates so that they are all the same.

1. Leave to dry for 24 hours.
2. After this time, place the dishes in a cool oven, set the temperature to 150° C.
