• black acrylic paint Pebeo Porcelaine 150 (or similar),
• damp cloth or towel.

Painting technology:

1. At first practice drawing on paper so that you don’t have to make unnecessary adjustments to the dishes later. But if there is a mistake on the dishes, it can be corrected with a damp cloth.
2. Apply the design to the dishes. These could be flowers, stars, polka dots, small lines, or anything else that comes to your mind.
3. Translucent paint, so for a clearer pattern, apply more than one coat.
4. Leave dry for 24 hours.
5. After this time, place place the dishes in a cool oven, set the temperature to 150° C. When the oven has warmed up to the set temperature, leave to bake.
6. When the time is up, turn off the oven and let the dishes cool before removing.

• several cotton swabs (to correct mistakes),
• alcohol or glass cleaner, a regular kitchen stove.

Painting technology:

1. First you need alcohol or window cleaner Clean ceramics and dishes from fingerprints or grease.
2. We draw raindrops on the cup and saucer (except for the center of the saucer where the cup is placed), that is, their outlines. Draw a rainbow in the center of the saucer.

TIP: If you have never used a marker before, you need to make the paint start to flow out of it. To do this, you need to shake it for about 30 seconds, and then press the tip onto a sheet of paper until the paint begins to flow. Once the paint has gone, you can start painting.

1. Use a medium sized brush to paint the raindrops. Use blue paint. You can paint right away with the paint in the bottle, or you can add a little water so that the color is not so saturated. Do not shake the paint, this may create bubbles which will reduce the quality of the painting.

If you have gone a little beyond the contours and the paint has not yet dried, this can be corrected with a cotton swab or napkin. If the paint has already dried, first moisten a cotton swab with alcohol, and only then correct the mistake. If you made a big mistake when drawing and you want to start over, then rinse the dishes under warm water or wipe with alcohol and let it dry thoroughly before starting to paint again.

1. These paints mix well with each other, so you can paint some of the droplets with blue, then mix with sapphire and paint the rest. You can paint some of them with just paint, or often with paint mixed with water.

1. You can draw the stencils yourself or you can take one already ready-made drawings and print them out on contact paper.

Well, there’s no way without ceramics. Smooth, glossy white (“porcelain”) plates, cups, bowls and any other products from the store are suitable. White - it’s more convenient to combine colors. Smooth - so as not to waste a lot of paint filling the pores. Glass is also suitable for drawing, so you can create stained glass windows.

- So, there is a plate, paints, brushes... And then? Procedure for painting plates?

— Choose a ready-made drawing from a book, the Internet, or make a couple of sketches on paper. The shape of the plate encourages you to choose a plot that fits into the circle. Here are a couple of examples of my decorative plates with a “round pattern”:

At first, you can transfer the drawing using carbon paper. It’s convenient to draw on your own with a light felt-tip pen: it’s easy to erase and edit. IMPORTANT: permanent markers do not erase, be careful. If the paints on ceramics are transparent, then lightly wipe the plate at the beginning - the outline of the design will become barely visible and disappear towards the end.

There are special contours for painting ceramics - paint in tubes with a thin spout. The outlines in the painting are usually white or black (but there are other colors). Purpose: the contour prevents the paint from spreading. Just trace the drawing with it, wait until it dries and paint. And with the help of such a contour you can imitate a stained glass window if you draw on glass.

- HM interesting! Are there any secrets or tricks in painting plates?

- Of course have! The more you draw and use different materials, the more tricks you will learn! For example:

1. The paint is matte or transparent - the painting will look different.
2. Transparent colors can flow beautifully into one another, like watercolors. But try not to do more than one or two layers (otherwise the result will be dirt).
3. Also important: any paint contains a solvent, and if the bottom layer is not dry well, the top layer can wash it out.
