Another device is the drilling angle indicator. On its wooden figured body there is a plumb line arrow, and an inclination scale is marked on the side (Fig. 3).

In the lower part - the base - there is a groove cut for the belt, with the help of which the pointer is secured to the drill. When it is tilted in one direction or another, the arrow deviates, indicating the angle of entry of the drill (Fig. 4).

Metal coupling with a bolt - retainer. This device is sold in stores, and in several technological versions. The thing is useful, but has some drawbacks.

Firstly, the clamp is designed for a drill of a certain diameter. It is possible to place it on a drill of smaller diameter, but the fixation will become unreliable and the centering of the drill will be lost. Over time, the bolt breaks and the key begins to turn.

The fastest and easiest option is to mark the desired depth on the drill and wrap it above the mark with electrical tape. It won’t be particularly accurate, but when working with wood, the main thing is to determine the maximum permissible drilling depth. For example, to prevent the drill from coming out on the other side of the part.
