8th Finno-Ugric Press Festival. International Finno-Ugric festival of youth ethnoculture "Palezyan"

The VIII All-Russian Finno-Ugric Press Festival has started in Ugra. This is the first time that a significant forum of national journalism has been held in our region.

Participants in the all-Russian festival were Finno-Ugric journalists from Udmurtia, Mordovia, Mari El, Perm Territory, the Komi Republic, Bashkortostan, the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, as well as journalists and freelance writers from the United Editorial Board of the national newspapers “Khanty Yasang” and “Luima Seripos”.

Today, the forum program in Khanty-Mansiysk opened with a visit to the Torum Maa ethnographic museum. The employees of the complex open air talked about the history of its origins, and also gave a tour of the main objects of the museum. Of particular interest to Finno-Ugric journalists were examples of support for traditions and national crafts of indigenous small peoples North, as well as the current “Sanctuary of the Ob Ugrians”.

“The first two festivals were held in Yoshkar-Ola. According to our proposal, this festival is “nomadic” and is held every two years in different Finno-Ugric cities. They made it “nomadic” so that journalists could visit the territories where Finno-Ugric peoples live. This is one of the reasons for the festival. Today here we see how the culture and way of life of the Khanty and Mansi in Ugra is supported. This. The second reason is that there are not many Finno-Ugric people, and there are even fewer journalists writing in their native languages. The festival is designed to resolve problematic issues in national journalism and discuss best practices. The forum is needed, and it was well received by the regional public,” notes the head of the press and mass communications Ministry of Culture, Press and National Affairs of the Republic of Mari El Vladimir Markin.

Let us add that today, as part of a large-scale forum, there will be a meeting with deputies of the Duma and the Assembly of representatives of indigenous peoples of the North of Ugra, as well as an acquaintance with the national village “Vent Court”.

“Two years ago, when we held the second festival in Izhevsk, participants expressed a desire to visit the ancient Khanty land. We turned to the leadership of the Autonomous Okrug, they agreed to meet us, and therefore today we are meeting here for the first time in the capital of Ugra,” says Nikolai Ishutkin, chairman of the interregional public organization “Commonwealth of Finno-Ugric Journalists.” “Such meetings are platforms where we share experiences. We would like to know how the press in national languages is developing in the regions. Together we must not lose our readers. Therefore, the significance of the festival is enormous.”

    Festival program

The Finno-Ugric Press Festival is being held in Ugra for the first time. Representatives of almost all Finno-Ugric publications will take part in it. During the event, not only problems and achievements will be discussed; the organizers have also thought out a rich cultural program for forum guests. They will visit many cultural institutions of Khanty-Mansiysk, meet with young children who are learning their native language, playing instruments and dancing. Another important meeting with deputies of the Duma and the Assembly of representatives of indigenous peoples of the North of Ugra will take place in the district Duma and, of course, guests will be able to try traditional cuisine indigenous peoples of the North. Tomorrow, within the framework of the forum, a plenary session will be held, including the opening of a photo exhibition.

« The peculiarity of the festival is that the Finno-Ugric peoples of Russia are scattered across many regions and in order to somehow get closer, journalists need to communicate. We meet, establish connections, and exchange experiences. We will summarize the work and outline plans for the next year. Two years ago we had our own website, which was registered as a media outlet. We want all regions to join in enriching and filling this resource“- emphasized Nikolai Ishutkin.

For her part, Elena Minnigaraeva added that the delegation of the Government of the Udmurt Republic participates in this festival every two years: “ For us, this is not just an exchange of experience, we learn from each other, get acquainted with the local culture, and new ideas are born. We bring to readers the original culture that exists locally. These festivals are a very great experience for journalists».

Let us remind you that for the joint editorial office of the national newspapers “Khanty Yasang” and “Luima Seripos” the festival is of particular importance. As part of the event, the editorial office will celebrate its 60th anniversary. Another significant event - literally on September 27, the first editor of the newspaper, Grigory Lazarev, turned 100 years old. " This is very important for us, and for this event we published the Book “60 Years with the Writer and Readers”, the presentation of which will be tomorrow“, noted Raisa Reshetnikova.

    Forge of personnel

Today, Finno-Ugric press publications actively involve children and youth in their work. Thus, Nikolai Ishutkin noted that they, in particular, have accumulated extensive experience in working with youth. Many years ago, activists were found in schools in the region who wrote materials for the magazine. Over the course of 30 years, the editorial office has raised several generations of future journalists and writers. In addition, the magazine uses materials from participants in creative Olympiads. The magazine also has a section “Ogonki”, it is the most popular, where poems, fairy tales and stories of schoolchildren and students are published.

« Children's magazines are a kind of talent forge. We notice children, give them recommendations for admission to the journalism department at universities and, of course, subsequently get journalists and writers", - noted the chairman of the NGO "Commonwealth of Finno-Ugric Journalists".

The press of the government of the Udmurt Republic also actively cooperates with the Udmurt state university, with the Institute of History of Language and Literature Russian Academy Sci. " When we need any material, a representative from the institute acts as an expert. If they find some interesting information, they contact the newspaper. This is interesting both for us and for readers. We are trying to raise young people who feel the language, want to write and want to develop Udmurt culture"- said Elena Minnigaraeva.

Children are also actively involved in journalism in the united editorial office of national newspapers of Ugra. All sorts of things are organized here for schoolchildren. creative competitions and publish their work. Another interesting project - children's magazine, which was published in three languages - Khanty, Russian and English.

« Today, in all our small towns and cities, where they teach their native language, they also teach English. Teachers often say that there is no material related to the cultures and traditions of the peoples of the North in English. We tried to fulfill this request"- said Raisa Reshetnikova.

Also today in Ugra there is a project working on the operation of funds mass media with schoolchildren of Ugra. " We are looking for people who can simultaneously write, work on radio and television in their native languages. Several training seminars have already taken place where children learn to take photographs, process photographs, and learn the basics of journalism“- noted the editor-in-chief of the joint editorial office of the national newspapers “Khanty Yasang” and “Luima Seripos”.

    A look into the future

Today, all Finno-Ugric publications are faced with the problem of declining circulation. "N During our meetings, we discuss how to get out of this situation, share our experiences, who uses modern digital technologies and how. We are currently working on creating a mobile application. We attract active youth, try to follow new trends, conduct quests and brain rings, - said the deputy editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Udmurt Dunne”. - We expect that this festival will give us an understanding of where to go next».

Let us note that all publications understand that without a paper version there is nowhere. After all, Finno-Ugric publications not only bring information to the reader, they have another mission - they are unique cultural centers where representatives of indigenous peoples address their problems. It is closer for them to receive information on native language, they trust her more.

« We would really like for all our indigenous residents in the district to receive a newspaper in their native language. We have newspapers in the Kazym and Surgut dialects, and now we are working to have a newspaper in Vakhovsk. Subsidizing publications helps us a lot. I am glad that in addition to creating a newspaper, the united editorial office can participate in competitions for various government grants and create their own publications. We strive to ensure that representatives of all nationalities living in the district can receive information in their native language“- emphasized Raisa Reshetnikova.
